Suki Challenge: Cerberus vs. Coffins and Killer Bees

I like it rough

(I kind of look like I've come out of a horror movie...)

Today was insanely hot and I was unprepared for the heat! I've forgotten how humid it can be over here in Sri Lanka. In comparison, Adelaide's summer heat is more dry than humid. I don't know which I prefer to be honest: scalding sun or sweaty days?

Anyway, since I had errands to run today I thought I'd go for a darker look and wondered how different Cerberus and another Evil Shades shadow, Coffins, would be from one another. Coffins is considerably lighter, in the jar, swatched, in person but not in photos evidently.

To also make the look more suitable for sunny Colombo (and judgmental locals) I added She Space's Killer Bees as my water line color which completed the look in my opinion.

My verdict? I quite like them together but I don't think Coffins manages to stand out more than Cerberus. They're more like amicable companions. Coffins could easily be one of Cerberus' three heads. I wonder who the third head would be...?

There I go again, storytelling. I say this is a draw.

Suki Challenge: Cerberus vs. Sea Nymph

I like it rough

Going the other way, I decided a color lacking the red, pink or purple pigment might be the way to go. What better color than my favorite green, Darling Girl Cosmetic's Sea Nymph?

The shimmery, mermaid effect of this green originally had me reluctant to use it but after this day it was love (and I don't know why I still don't have more than just a sample of this! Time to order...) so I thought maybe it might be the winner against Cerberus...

My verdict? I think this look came out Christmas-y! A nice combination but I think this a tie, they both stand out equally in my opinion. Well done Sea Nymph but still no conqueror for Cerberus!

Suki Challenge: Cerberus vs. Kitten In Heels & Dark Knight

I like it rough

After the failure of mixing Cerberus with a lighter version of itself, I thought why not mix it up with a brighter version instead? And perhaps the mix of a damsel in distress and hero would defeat this puppy once and for all...or maybe I just got carried away with pretending my eye shadows actually live up to their names while I'm asleep. Like Toy Story. Except...it'd be...Make up Story...

Don't mind me...

Anyway, here we have Cerberus, Fyrinnae's Kitten in Heels, a fantastic pop of pink and for a liner, Darling Girl's Dark Knight, a brilliant blue.

My verdict? Kitten in Heels struggles to pop through and instead inevitably gets washed away without a trace, unfortunately too weak to stand the ferocity of Cerberus. However, interestingly enough is Dark Knight proves to be fighting hard to maintain its own against Cerberus. Could this make for a possible combination? We'll see in the next challenge perhaps...

Suki Challenge: Cerberus vs. Fantasy Star

I like it rough

You see every blogger doing looks of the day and looks with certain products but I have yet to see a blogger who does a look every day (for about a week or so, not literally for the rest of your life, eurk) using one product and then some.

I decided to try this using Evil Shades' Cerberus which is really such a great color to use every single day however I find it to be quite the dominant color so my challenge? To find a combination of colors or a color that will tame Cerberus once and for all.

Maybe I'm taking their names too seriously. Just maybe.

My first look is with Cerberus, of course, and another Evil Shades shadow from the 'The Stars' collection, Fantasy Star.

My reason for mixing these two first? I thought Fantasy Star which is a soft plum color with emerald and black sparkles would soften the fierce burgundy of Cerberus. I also thought the shimmery effect of Fantasy Star would make for a nice contrast.

My verdict? You can barely see that there's another color on my lids. If it weren't for the black glitter of Fantasy Star, you'd never know it was there! Definitely not a good combination, I'm thinking I need to think fierce with fierce instead of a taming color.
