More CHA Photos

Sorry about the delay in posting, but I have been working 6 days a week and I am completely exhausted. When I started working my "extra" job before Christmas, I had no idea I would end up staying on and working as many hours as I have been. Now, on for the fun stuff.

Here are a few pictures of boards from Northwoods Rubber Stamps. These pictures do not do these boards justice. The gals at Northwoods are lovers of AIG (Art Institute Glitter) and it shows when you look at their boards. They are spectacular to look at.

I have to go to work in a few hours, but will try to edit some more pics and get them up soon. TTFN!

CHA Photos---Penny Black

Just about anyone who knows me, knows that I love, love, love Penny Black rubber stamps. These pictures are 3 of their boards that were on display at the show. Robin and I did a really cute m/t at the PB booth also. (still need to take pics of the m/t's that we did) It is hard to tell, but there is Stickles on several of the samples on these boards --- ya just gotta love that glitter :)

On the bottom board, Elizabeth from Penny Black told us that she inked the bold word stamps with pigment ink (she uses VersaColor) and then went over the images with pearlescent Brilliance inks and then stamped them. They were rich with color and shimmer. I forgot to ask if she used a similar color or possibly just gold or silver over the VersaColor inks. Maybe, I should e-mail her.

The link to Penny Black is to the left if you want to check them out!

Quick Post

Just wanted to pop in and tell you that I am back up and running. Well sort of, I ended up losing all of my saved files when I changed out my hard drive. The only pics I had backed up to a disk were the CHA pics. Yeah!

I am busy trying to find all of the great places that I used to stalk on a daily basis!

Let me just say, my experience with Dell was much different when I was still under warranty than it was this time......................nuff said!

Hang in there, I will put pics up tomorrow.

Hugs to all,
Melissa

CHA pics coming soon

Hi there!

Just before we left for CHA, I started having problems with my computer. I called Dell and they have sent me the new parts (hard drive and more RAM) and they are going to call me and walk me through installing them. I don't want to upload all of the pictures and possibly loose them and have to do it again. YUK!

I thought they were going to call this morning, but Jon said they are going to call tomorrow morning (the 14th).

We took lots of pictures and bought lots of papers. We still have lots of orders to write. As Sharon would say, I was whining every time we walked away from a booth without placing an order. I just don't understand how come I can't "have it all" :)

Hugs,
melissa

Amazing Sunset

I almost always have my camera with me in the car and I was sure glad I had it with me the other night when I was on my way home from work. As I turned onto the road to our house on Monday night, I looked through the trees and this is what I saw. I backed up the car, put the window down and snapped the view. If I didn't know better, I would have thought I was looking at a forest fire. (not something I want to see).

Only one more day and then Robin and I will be heading to Anaheim to attend the CHA show. Sharon and Al will meet us there on Sunday. I can't wait for a few days away. Robin and I have a few classes scheduled and we are going to check out the Copic Marker workshop on Saturday afternoon and we are going to an SEI preview Saturday evening. We are hoping to do some make/takes on Sunday and then will meet up with Sharon and Al and hit the show floor running! Comfy shoes are a must!

I am taking my computer and hope to share pictures along the way. Which booth should we check out first?

Change

The word for this week's Scripture Challenge is Change.

Card front says:

CHANGE can turn you upsidedown.

Journaling on the back reads:

God NEVER changes.

Malachi 3:5 For I am the Lord, I change not...

However, He wants us to change as we become conformed to His image.

Romans 8:28-29 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Next to this verse in my Bible I wrote a quote from an unnamed preacher, "If it’s good it’s conforming us to God. If it’s conforming us to God, it’s good."

Some Cards

Here are some cards I made recently:

Some for Valentine's Day:

A sympathy card for a friend:

Sharing a couple of older cards

Okay, so they are not ancient or anything but I did make them awhile back. The first one fits a #10 (letter size) envelope. The base card is black linen and then I layered with yellow dot cardstock from My Minds Eye (I think). The black print cardstocks are from Treehouse Memories. The bees are of course from Stampendous (aren't they cute?). I used a black glaze pen to give the bee's bodies a little shine. A little glitter glue on the wings, some ribbon and a tiny Jolee's flower and it was done.

This one I did awhile back for a three by three challenge we had at the store. You were to use 3 print papers/cardstocks from 3 different companies. My base card is Bazzill cardstock. The large blue/green floral print is from K & Co. , the smaller floral print is from SEI and the green mottled print is from My Minds Eye. The ribbon was from my friend Debbie and the green clipiola was in my stash. The "happy birthday" stamp is from Hero Arts.

On the homefront, We went to the "Christmas" party tonight for one of my jobs. It was a nice dinner complete with gifts for all. You see, one of my jobs is at our local department store so until the holidays pass and inventory is done, no partying for us! While we were at the party, it started snowing again. The satellite dish is covered, so no TV tonight. Thank goodness for my computer. I hope we don't loose power! TTFN!

And the winner is...........

ETA: Claire, please send your snail mail info to me at: mdcash@sti.net

Claire!

Claire said...
I love to stamp because for me it lets me be creative and makes other people happy when family and friends receive my cards or crafts. It makes me happy when I am sad or mad. It makes me calm. I love being creative and stamping allows me to do that but also see how other people can be creative with the same stamp that I have.

Claire,
Please e-mail me with your snail addy and I will get your goodies mailed right out to you.

If I don't hear from Claire by Tuesday Feb 5, I will pick another winner as I want to get this package mailed before I leave for CHA.

Thanks to everyone for posting comments and subscribing. I really appreciate it.

Hugs,
Melissa
