To participate, simply link up your blog with something you've made...It can be art, photography, a recipe, a poem, decorating--you name it, we just want to see your creative spirit coming through!!! (No need to make something new--you can link an old post.) Also, I will not hold a Creative Spirit Challenge for December as the holidays will keep us all busy--AND I will start up again in January!

I am linking this to The Graphics Fairy as the angel image came from Karen!!!

And I have some exciting news--My work is going to be featured in a fabulous art gallery and I just made this piece, an embellished cigar box entitled "Paris" to be on display! I will post more pictures next week so you can see what I've been up to!

Halloween 2010

Ok, I admit, I don't get into Halloween as much as I should, or as much as I want to even.
But, I will admit that I had the cutest little trick-or-treaters.
I think you can agree??
Look at this Dorothy...she has such sass in that pose.

And this pretty pink cheerleader in high top chuck taylor converse shoes...
It just does not get any sweeter.

And then put them together and it's pure preciousness.

Lillian's school, All Stars Montessori, held their Halloween PartyFriday night.
It was a blast. Little Miss Socialite had a great time reaquainting with some of her old friends.

Here she is with Yazzy, showing off their purple smiles.

Lillian enjoyed playing all the games..tossing the rings on the spider and bean bag toss.

They also had a dance room set up with spooky Halloween music.
You can see Alexa and Lilli in the back boogying down.

The spooky magician made all the kids laugh with his silly tricks.

The girls were so excited to go trick or treating. Alexa, of course, was pumped. Lillian was excited because Alexa was excited. I don't think she really understood yet what the whole concept was until we went to the first house and she saw the candy in her bag.

All bundled up and ready to go..

We had such a good time We told the girls that for all the houses that they didn't say "trick or treat" or "thank you", that Mommy and Daddy got to have the candy they got from that house...and you better believe they both said it at every house...loud and clear. I was so proud of them both.

Lillian's bag got too heavy and she ended up tripping on it and scrapping her nose on the road. She was pretty sad for awhile. We emptied some of her candy into Alexa's basket, which made it a little easier for her to carry.

My little trick or treaters!

Here is a video of them trick or treating at our neighbor's.

I hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween.
Next year, I'm having a Halloween Party....and I'm dressing up, too. :)

Happy Halloween!

Here's some Vintage Halloween Photos, to get us in the mood for The Years Spookiest Holiday!

The Gift Of Light's In You

The Gift Of Light's In You

There is a power in each of us
We tend to over look
Getting  so busy to notice
We  don't even open the book

The day goes by with its busy mess
The hustle pulls us along
We fall into its ebbing pull
As if to it we belong

As problems get to much for us
Life goes every which way
The Answer' there's for  each of us
Gently calling everyday

It's when we're at our weakest point
The breeze of Hope comes through
Blowing on our embers
As only It can do

There is  persistence in this glow
That cannot be withheld
 Igniting up  our very soul
Its energy starts to weld

This offering's so freely given
To guide us every day
As we open up this gift of Love
Its Light  will shine the way

If  life seems dark and hard to live
Step back and listen dear
For in the echoes of your heart
You will surely hear

The whispers of a Love so strong
It's only just begun
For living inside each of us
God's Light's already won

Let go, Let God Let your Light shine
Life will follow through
Keep opening  your life with Love
The gift of Light's in you

A Halloween Treat

Hi Everyone--
I have a cute little surprise for you today as a Halloween celebration! My daughter Jenny went as Frida Kahlo one year for Halloween. Here is Jenny when she is not in costume.

And here she is as Frida.

When I was typing to my friend Marfi one day, I realized that her 2 daughters went as Frida for Halloween too. So, the two of us decided to post our daughters together on our blogs to show you how cute they looked! Marfi’s blog is at: Incipient Wings!

This is Gabriella, Marfi’s oldest daughter.

And this is Helena, Marfi’s youngest daughter.
When Marfi tried to put flowers in her hair, she couldn't keep them in because Helena kept trying to eat them! How cute is that?

How cute are our “Frida’s?” Pure fun!

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #70

Good morning Magnolia Fans!! Welcome to Magnolia Down Under Challenges # 70.

This week our challenge is probably pretty easy to guess... yes.... it is spooky, it is kooky... it is:

HALLOWEEN *INSPIRED*

We would love to see you make something either Halloween OR inspired by Halloween. We realise that there are a lot of Australians playing here at MDUC and that some of you may not have any Halloween stamps, and that some of you may simply be all Halloween'd out! So we are making the challenge a little more open for you.... if you don't want to make a Halloween project - just be inspired by it. That could mean Halloween colours, Tilda or Edwin in costumes (think of the Fairytale collection) or a 3D project for treats. It is up to you!

Most of the Design Team really got into the Halloween spirit... starting with our wonderful Guest Designer for October, Maria! This is Maria's last week with us and we are very sad to see her go. It has been wonderful having you join us this month Maria!

We also have a new DT Member joining us for the rest of the year, please welcome Sharon Lougheed to the team! Sharon has been a regular participant and winner here at MDUC so we are very pleased to have her on board! Hasn't she made a fantastic project to share with us?

HOW TO JOIN IN...
  • You must have at least one Magnolia stamp on your work, it can be a sentiment, background etc does NOT have to be Edwin or Tilda for your card to be entered..
  • You must add your link in Mr.Linky
  • You MUST add a link to your **direct blog post***.... All entries not doing this will be removed.
  • You should have a link back to the challenge blog in your post.
  • Entries close Mid-day Saturday AES time (see the clock on the side bar)
  • DO NOT link your entry to an old card, even a day before will be removed. Making it fair to all the people that have made a card for the challenge...
