Bee Candy

~
Title: Bee Candy
Medium: Digital Painting
Full Size: 8" x 10"

The bumbles are big this time of year. They are everywhere. Anyone see the fairly recent animated rendition of Thumbelina? ok, maybe 10 years ago. I think it was a Warner Brothers.
Anyway in that film the fairy prince zings around on a big bumble bee. Anytime I see a bumble I always look for him...you never know when you'll spot a fairy hitching a ride.

This bee was just loving this flower. The color just pops. I can't even imagine what it looks like in bee vision!

Reunion

Recently, I realized that I've had art training most of my life. In a book I've been reading lately it says, "All knowledge is worth having." I'm not so sure ALL knowledge is...but I am sure I'll take more art related classes in the future.

My high school reunion is coming up in a few weeks. To commemorate that...or just 'cause...I've decided to post some of my old artwork. It was kind of fun to dig through my old portfolios.

The bumble was created in a summer art class. It's colored pencil. I was 6 or 7 years old.

The horse still life is pen and ink. I was 16.
