Buzz Off: A Queen Bee Mystery by Hannah Reed - a honey of a mystery!

September was shaping up to be a pretty good month for Story Fischer – not only is it National Honey Month, celebration enough in itself for her grocery store - The Wild Clover, but she is also celebrating the finalization of her divorce from her no-good husband Clay. But when her beekeeping mentor and good friend Manny Chapman is found dead, the supposed victim of a bee attack, Story finds she has to do a little sleuthing of her own to find out how Manny really died, before the town folks run her bees out of town too!

In her debut book, BUZZ OFF: A Queen Bee Mystery, author Hannah Reed combines an intriguing who-dun-it with a lively action-filled story to create one sweet cozy mystery!

As Story digs into the sticky mess Manny’s death has left behind, her former high school flame, deputy Hunter Wallace, urges her to leave the investigation to the professionals. But Story knows those bees did not kill Manny, and she is determined to find the real cause before the backlash of bee-terror stings her business.

Meanwhile, during the hubbub over Manny’s death, Story’s ex-husband (and next-door neighbor) Clay is arrested after his girlfriend is found dead in Story’s kayak. Something about the timing of the two deaths seems suspicious to Story, so of course, like bees to a flower, she flies into that investigation as well. But will she find the real killer before her honeycomb of clues congeals into facts?

BUZZ-OFF is a charming beginning to what promises to be a fun series! Hannah Reed includes lots of information on beekeeping and honey throughout the story, and as a bonus treat for readers, includes several honey-inspired recipes at the end of the story! This book proves to be a yummy treat for fans of cozy mysteries!
