Birthday, Birthday, Wedding, Birthday's, Birthday's...

Just when I thought that things were about to slow down, things gets busier.

We received an invitation to my co-worker's daughter's Birthday on Saturday, the 19th from 12 noon to 4pm. She is turning 3 years old and Alexa is more than excited to go to her party. What to buy a 3 year old who has everything and then some?

Then, I picked up the girls from school and saw another envelope with Alexa's name on it in her cubby, looking very much like an invitation. Sure enough, Matt and Allison are celebrating their Birthday's on Saturday, September 26th from 4:30 to 7:30. Ok, what to buy a 6 year old girl and a 5 year old boy, who I don't even know?

Theeeeeeennn, we're sitting out in the front yard playing with the neighbor kids and the puppy and Cody (one of the neighbor kids) runs out his front door, holding a piece of paper, running as fast as he could in a beeline straight for us. "Can you come to my Birthday Party? I'm going to be 4!!!" (Thinking to myself, really? How can we be invited to 4 Birthday parties in one day - who will be next?) "SURE, CODY!! WE'D LOVE TO COME TO YOUR PARTY! When is it?"
He hands me his invitation, that his mom so creatively made on the computer and it read: 'I'm turning 4!! Cody's Birthday! Saturday, September 19th from 12 noon to 4pm. My house!'
Sounds like fun Cody, thanks for the invite.

Sitting there thinking of how we can make it to both parties, I was ok with the idea of going to Cecilia's first for an hour or 2 and then to Cody's for the last part of his....then...I realized that there was another invitation on the fridge that's been there for so long, it's nearly been forgotten. I ran inside and quickly searched for the date. Would you believe that we have a wedding in Albert Lea on Saturday, September 19th? How can this be? What to do and where to go?

Adam and I sat down at the counter last night, he made himself a snack and I got out a pen and paper. We started making a list and checked it twice. I think we'll skip the wedding and go to Cecilia's party for the first part of the afternoon and then to Cody's for the second part. Alexa can go to Allison and Matthew's party the 23rd and then we'll celebrate Alexa and Lillian's Birthday's on October 3rd.

Yeah, so not only do we have Cecelia, Cody, Matt and Allison's parties...we have our own to plan, too.

Yesterday, Alexa went with her class to the Apple Orchard in Lakeville for a fun field trip. She learned all about apples and how to make apple juice and even how to pick them off the tree. "You twist and then pull, so you don't break the branches", she said. She was able to pick 5 apples to put in her bag and bring home to share with the family. Lillian was more than pleased. Alexa let her hold the bag of apples in the car on the way home and Lillian took them out and informed us that they were 'yellow and pink' apples. Smarty!
I cut and pealed them for supper last night and they were mighty sweet and delicious. Thanks Alexa! :)

Alexa has her kindergarten screening at the Farmington schools next Wednesday. I'm looking forward to seeing how she does and what she needs to work on. With her starting preschool again at All Stars, she is in class from 3 to 5 every day working with Ms. Tracy and Ms. Kate. She has been bringing home worksheets and the reports from her teachers have been nothing but great comments.

Lillian has quickly discovered that she is going to be 2 very soon and has decided it's about that time to learn how to talk and say actual words and say them well and even make sentences. It happened literally overnight. Now, let's see if she can do that with potty training?
