Have you ever heard the phrase, "You're only as healthy as what you put in your body"? Well, I think that goes for what you put on your body, as well. Your skin is your largest organ and around 60% of the ingredients you put on it gets absorbed into your body. You're probably now thinking of all the different lotions and creams and body washes and soaps that you've put on your body and all the different chemicals that have been absorbed. (I am, too!) All the synthetic chemical ingredients are not always easily metabolized in the skin and can leave very harmful effects. It sure makes me think twice about what I've used in the past and what I am using now. Thanks to Burt's Bee's and the wonderful opportunity they gave me to review a sample of their products, I am choosing to use natural products for myself and my children.

My thoughts: One of the biggest things that annoys me about wearing lotion is the oily feeling it leaves behind on my hands. With Burt's Bee's it's not like that at all. It absorbs so quickly and begins to work immediately, leaving a soft feel to your skin. It says it lasts 24 hours, and it does. I can even feel it working after a couple of hand washes. I have used this Milk & Honey Body Lotion on my hands, on my body and every night on my kids after their bath. I like the milk & honey combination for the nourishment and softness and the scent is really growing on my, too. My kids love it and my soon-to-be SIL gives it a thumbs up, too. Most of all, I like the fact that I don't have to worry about all the nasty chemicals that are being absorbed into mine and my kids' bodies, because there isn't any.
Medicated Lip Balm: This medicated lip balm provides relief for severely dry lips with pain relieving camphor and menthol. The soothing formula helps prevent and temporarily protects cracked, chapped and wind burned lips.
My Thoughts: Out of all of the lip balms that we received to review, this has been the one that we have used the most. Living in Minnesota, with the freezing cold dry winters, it's imperative that we have proper lip care. It's the worst thing ever, when you have dry chapped lips. It's a horrible feeling. One blow of that cold winter wind and my lips are screaming at me to protect them. Well, my lips are thanking me now. Burt's Bee's medicated lip balm works almost instantly, giving your lips the relief they need. Another huge reason why I love this product is that my daughters love putting countless amounts of lip gloss on and it leaves their lips and mouth area all red and dry. One swipe of Burt's Bee's medicated lip balm and the rings around their mouths are gone. It's really been a lifesaver to us this winter.
Beeswax Lip Balm: Give your lips the soothing feeling they deserve. This natural lip balm is loaded with coconut and sunflower oils, rich in vitamins and essential fatty acids, to nourish, condition and soften lips. Beeswax seals in hydration. We've even added peppermint oil for a refreshing tingle. Take your pick of an old-fashioned yellow tin or a recycled plastic tube. No wonder it is our most popular product.
My Thoughts: The Burt's Bee's Beeswax lip balm is a necessity when it comes to the weather we're experiencing now. Once should be kept in your coat pocket, desk purse, car, home ect. The soothing feeling it gives your lips throughout the day is incredible. It doesn't feel heavy on your lips at all. It's so light and smooth. My girls and I love it! The peppermint tingling sensation mentioned above makes my girls giggle when they apply. It's simply fabulous.

My Thoughts: In the summer it's easy to remember to apply sunscreen to your shoulders and face, but we often forget that our lips need protection, too. Most importantly though we forget that it's important to apply the spf in the winter, too.
