We've been having a couple really snowy days here this week! The photo above is from last year, the day after a huge snowfall, the sun came out and this was the view from our door. I think it's just beautiful, the snow looks so calm. The past few days here, we have had huge snowfalls, that came with dark days, lots of wind, and awful road conditions. Being from Oswego, NY - We're all pretty used to it. (The article I linked to is from a couple years ago, but it describes a typical winter here.) Anyway, all this snow just means one thing - SNOW DAYS! We stayed home and cuddled and watched some movies (Inception & Dinner for Schmucks), and half a season of The Office. I baked some homemade Mac. and Cheese, and we're drinking a lot of Chai Tea.
While we were hunkered down indoors, I had a chance to get some organizing and cleaning out done too - mostly in my etsy area. I filled a huge bag up with clothes that I am just not going to list or use, to donate at the Salvation Army tomorrow (If the weather is nice). Then I went through alllll of my jewelry stash. I gathered all my "I'll list this someday", "I'll clean this up and sell it", my "I bought this because I really liked it and it's not even vintage and now what am I going to do with it?", my "I'll use this for parts some day for another project", and the "This can totally be repaired" jewelry pieces and put them aside. I took several more pieces that I have collected that either aren't vintage or aren't quite the style I like to post at S.S.Vintage and put all this jewelry together. It weighs about 5 pounds! I listed it on Ebay and started the bidding at .99 cents. I figure someone else can surly get more use out of it than I have been, and it feels GREAT to have some extra space for new items. Then, any money I make will be fun to spend on things to fill up all that newly found space.
When Moags and Smeet heard about my Jewelry Clean Out, they were kind enough to feature me and the mega jewelry stash on the front page of their 'Etsy Daily News' online Newspaper. How cool of them!
Thanks, Guys!
In other news, I got my hands on six vintage camera's today! Photos of them and Etsy listings coming up soon. I have more camera's on the way after those as well. Most of my camera stock sold around the holidays, and I can't wait to fill my shelves/stock with them once again.
This cold weather is really giving me the urge to knit! I haven't knit anything in more than six months, and I found a beautiful skein of Alpaca Yarn today! I think I will dive into that later. What are you doing with your Saturday night? Have fun, and Stay Warm!
