Happy Monday!
It was another low key weekend for us. It seems as though we are having a lot of those lately and let me tell you - it's nice!! With the craziness of the holidays, it's nice to be able to take a few weekends to just chill!
Our plans were to go to the Winter Kite Festival on Lake Harriet, but it was just too cold. Instead, we invited the friends we were going to go with, over for dinner - tacos, beans and rice. Yum!! These are the friends that literally do every kind of favor possible for us and the kind of friends that we feel like we'll never-ever be able to repay for all the nice things they've done. I honestly felt a little giddy that they were coming over with no intentions on fixing, building or installing anything for us - and to not watch our kids. We're attempting to give back to them - in the form of food. I can only hope that it's enough!
We had a blast nonetheless! We ate, watched some football, played Kinect, talked and laughed. And then they gave Chip a doggy bone/raw hide that was twice the size of him. Chip went to town on it and has a whole corner chewed off already. And then I went to town baking them a banana bread for yet another one of their sweet gestures.

I'm in the process of trying to figure out how to enroll Alexa into Sunday school at our church. I know there are some forms that need to be filled out and whatnot, but I can't seem to find them on their website or on the bulletin board at church. It's on my to-do list this week to call and get her registered. During mass yesterday the school aged children were called together to do a few projects and sing some songs. Alexa totally loved it, which makes me feel a little guilty for waiting til now to get her into the actual classes.
Do any of you watch Desperate Housewives? The hubs and I started watching the first season last night (found it on Netflix!) and I'm obsessed (crap!). I've caught a few episodes of it here and there but, haven't been an avid follower. There are 6 seasons on Netflix - that otta keep me busy awhile!
The Cozy Cap Creation's Photo Contest ended last night. Alexa came out in 3rd place with 70-some votes. 1st and 2nd places each had 200-some. Thanks to all who voted for her. She was bummed to not win the cap for her sister, but she said, "it's ok Mom, the winner was really pretty". You gotta love that positive attitude. A huge thanks to Melissa over at Day 2 Day Living for rallying for Alexa. She blogged, tweeted and facebooked to get her more votes. What an awesome chica - check her blog out, HERE. Leave her a comment, tell her I sent ya and I KNOW she'll follow you back.
Things to do this week:
1.) register Alexa for Sunday school
2.) register Alexa for spring soccer
3.) (work on) getting Lillian to sleep in her own bed
4.) find poodle skirts for the girls for their sock hop on the 28th (any ideas would be appreciated!)
