Photo Share

Over the weekend we wanted to take advantage of the beautiful weather, so we headed out for a walk with a friend. The sun was shining so brightly, and the snow has almost disappeared totally! It was a great day. It was also a great opportunity to get out with my camera, and take some outside photographs. I'm still learning things about my DSLR all the time, and I've been using it indoors-only for the past few months.

Anyways, the only real reason for this post was that I wanted to share a few 'Early Spring in Upstate NY' Photographs.

CRUSH! - The Floral Print Bag

On the very top of my wish list right now is a cute new purse for spring & summer. Since prints and florals are both popular this season, I keep coming across these absolutely adorable bags with flowers! I've seen all different styles in stores, magazines, and online.

Can you see why I'm smitten with these sweet bags? Perfect for Spring!

I haven't found the one yet that I'm ready to buy, but I am on the lookout! Recently, Sally (My Boyfriends Mom and my Friend), found one just like the one in the photo below, for just a few dollars in the thrift store!

Her great find is the purse that inspired my crush! I adore it!

Now, I just need to find the perfect bag for me. I've never been much of a floral wearing person before, I'm ready to try something new! How do you feel about flower prints on your accessories?

Spring is making an appearance!

DSC_0025

We went out to some trails for a walk the other day, and I was so happy to see some hints that spring is on the way! It's great to see some color outside for a change. And while we still have a little bit of snow, it's melting pretty quickly at this point and I think I am officially putting my warm boots into the closet until next winter!

It really hit me that spring was coming yesterday, when 6:30 pm rolled around and I realized it was still nice and light outside. That felt fabulous, and I am so ready for longer days and warmer weather!

What signs of the seasons changing are you seeing? Every area is so different! I've seen flowers in bloom on some of the blogs I read, and snow still falling on others! My brother is enjoying 80 degree weather in North Carolina today, and even sent me a photo of an ice cream truck making it's rounds! (What a tease! He know how much I love a good ice cream truck!)

Maybe Someday We'll Be Smarter - Guest Blogger!

Hello S.S. Vintage readers! This is Stephanie from Maybe Someday We’ll Be Smarter and I’m guest posting today for Samantha. For the past few days, the weather has been good to Southern California. Factor in daylight savings time this Sunday and I’m ready for spring to finally arrive. So I thought I’d share some of the items on my spring must have list. The cool thing is that you can probably find these items on my list at your local thrift store or on Etsy.

When I was growing up I had a pair of saddle shoes that I wore everyday until they fell apart. Last year I purchased Bass high heeled saddle shoe version, but now I would like to get the flat sole counterpart. I like the fact that they add a vintage/retro feel to any outfit and they are a nice break from your usual flat ballet style shoes. I’ll have save up my pennies and get the Rachel Antonoff designed version. I love the flowers on it.

I’m not one for a minimalist looking dress. It needs to have at least one of the following, ruffles, lace, color, print such as polka dots, stripes or gingham. If a dress can pull off three of those items without looking garish, then the dress is definitely a keeper.

There’s something about a pleated skirt that looks so ladylike especially when it’s knee length or below. I just like the way the skirt swishes as you walk. Plus depending on the length, it has potential twirl factor. Who doesn’t like twirling around in one?

Thanks for checking out my guest post and special thanks goes out to Samantha for letting me post!

( Hey Guys! Head on over and check out Stephanie's great blog, Maybe Someday We'll Be Smarter. )

March Inspiration Photos!

This month's inspiration photos are all about going Crazy for Prints!

I'm looking for some more fun and girly prints to add to my wardrobe for spring! I hope to get really brave and try mixing multiple prints! Have you tried this, And what you do this of the look? I love it, but I'm not confident yet putting together prints myself! (Sounds like I've made a new goal for myself!!)

I Hope you find a bit of inspiration in these colorful photos!
