Spring is making an appearance!

DSC_0025

We went out to some trails for a walk the other day, and I was so happy to see some hints that spring is on the way! It's great to see some color outside for a change. And while we still have a little bit of snow, it's melting pretty quickly at this point and I think I am officially putting my warm boots into the closet until next winter!

It really hit me that spring was coming yesterday, when 6:30 pm rolled around and I realized it was still nice and light outside. That felt fabulous, and I am so ready for longer days and warmer weather!

What signs of the seasons changing are you seeing? Every area is so different! I've seen flowers in bloom on some of the blogs I read, and snow still falling on others! My brother is enjoying 80 degree weather in North Carolina today, and even sent me a photo of an ice cream truck making it's rounds! (What a tease! He know how much I love a good ice cream truck!)

My New Antique Treasure!

Last week we were out running errands. We hadn't been to the thrift store in a few days, so on a whim decided to stop quick and see what there was to see. I did my usual lap around the outside of the store, but before I even got to start in on the clothes, I found this!!

I really can't believe no one purchased this before I got to the store! It's an Antique Pre-Civil War Photo album, full of photos. It's a FAMILY album! You can see the family grow and change over about 50 years. It's a great piece of history!

The Photos inside are incredible, I hope you don't mind that I share some of my favorites..

I have no idea how a piece this amazing could ever end up in a thrift store! However, I am so very glad I was there at the right time, and now it has a wonderful new home with us! My new treasure!

FRIDAY Find!

One of my very favorite things is a lazy morning, with coffee and my loved ones. If you get to be in your underwear during all of this, it's somehow even better!

I found an absolutely beautiful Fine Art Photograph on Etsy, by Steven Beckley, that captures the feel of a morning like this just perfectly!

The colors, the shadows, the bare feet and single cup of coffee. This photo is worth more than a thousand words! I am in love with this print, and many others by Steven.

You should really do yourself a favor and check out some more of his art!
Here's his Etsy Shop!
And his Website!

After the coffees gone, you know it's time to get dressed and start the day, but each morning, I truly enjoy my quiet, waking-up, coffee time. It's my favorite part of the day.

Say Cheese!

I really love old cameras. The older and more unique, the more wonderful they are! Most of the vintage cameras I thrift actually end up on display somewhere in our apartment before they end up in my Etsy shop. I don't know if it's the idea of all the images an old camera has captured over it's lifetime that makes them seem so charming, or the thought of being able to take one moment in time and transfer it to film so you can have it with you always, but I know I try to purchase every single vintage camera I find!

I always have a camera with me. It's much more important to me than my cellphone, and it might really be one of my favorite things! I can do everything with it from document important occasions, and events I want to remember, to taking pictures of things that seem ridiculous or silly so I can share it with my bother who lives too far away!
