Coffee DAY?

I have been told, September 29th is National Coffee Day!!

A day specifically for celebrating COFFEE? How on earth did I not know about this before today?

I am so there! In honor of our star of the day, I wanted to share some photos I've taken of my favorite beverage-

How do you take your coffee? What's your favorite kind? Piping Hot, Espresso, Iced, Sweet, Black, Extra Cream, Latte, Cappucino? So many to choose from!

Cheers!

Sunday Mornings

I love quiet relaxing Sunday mornings. This morning it's all about being cozy, refilling my coffee, and flipping through this enormous fall issue of Vogue. A little bit of down time before I gear up for a new week!

Happy Sunday! Hope you all have a wonderful and productive week!

This and That

It seems like this week is going slowly. I'm enjoying it, relaxing and soaking in all the lovely changes of the season.

I think the highlight of my week so far, may just be the fact that PUMPKIN coffee is back on shelves! (Yay Fall, Anyone?!)

We heard through a friend of a friend that there was a new little Greek restaurant in town. It was supposed to be good, so we headed out there on Monday to find out for ourselves.

The restaurant has fabulous greek food. Gyros and Falafels, and the best Moussaka I have ever tasted (I'm not even crazy about eggplant!).

They were actually so good, we tried their Pizza and Wings on tuesday night. They are really great too! It's so nice to have a new restaurant open in town. I hope they do well, and stick around for a while. It’s a small place, with a friendly owner, so I’m crossing my fingers for them, even though I’m thinking their food will speak for itself!

On a Shop related note, I listed a couple really unique pair of vintage shoes on Etsy today! Check them out..

Tomorrow I'm going to the post office, and hopefully I'll have a chance to get to some thrift stores. For now, I'm getting another cup of Pumpkin Coffee!
What are you doing on this Wednesday night?

Coffee Break and An Army of Dolls

I was out this morning, looking for vintage goodies for the shop. One of my favorite places to stop for coffee of lunch while we are downtown is this sweet little cafe and bakery called Port City.

port city

They have the Best baked goods ever, and they make sandwiches too, on fresh baked bread. I had a delicious raspberry muffin, and of course iced hazelnut coffee! A perfect break on a hot day while we're out shopping and thrifting.

We also stopped at a local pawn shop, and I was able to get a whole bunch of Vintage Jewelry for the shop, and half an army of russian stacking dolls! I'm excited to have some new things to list in the shop.

Shop updates coming later tonight!
Have a Happy Monday!

Julia Child was a Leo!

This morning I sat down to start a new book! I'm reading Julia Child's Memoirs, titled "My Life in France".

DSC00283

My boyfriend is a chef and we both absolutely adore Julia. Sometimes in the mornings if we're lucky we can catch an episode of "Cooking with Julia and Jacques" on PBS. This always makes me want to cook what ever Julia is making. Last time this happened, we ended up with enough french onion soup for a week. It was delicious.

My best thrifting adventure find is also Julia related! A few summers ago, I was in a small local antique store. I had been in there a few times recently, but it wasn't until this trip that I noticed a little book shelf right off the top of the stair case. On the bookshelf was a First Edition 'Mastering The Art of French Cooking'! It even still had it's original paper jacket. It was only $10. The cookbook originally sold for $10 when it first came out in 1961! I think it's one of my best treasures to date.

Well, Since I've been on such a Julia kick, I wanted to share some great photos I found of her!

She's so young in this photo! And So pretty!

Here she is with her husband, Paul. The more I learn about their relationship, the more I love it. They loved each other so much, and made each other so happy.

This last photo is classic Julia, with her rolling pins! She's the best!

What a wonderful afternoon it would be to cook and drink coffee and have lunch with Julia! I wish I could have met her.

FRIDAY Find!

One of my very favorite things is a lazy morning, with coffee and my loved ones. If you get to be in your underwear during all of this, it's somehow even better!

I found an absolutely beautiful Fine Art Photograph on Etsy, by Steven Beckley, that captures the feel of a morning like this just perfectly!

The colors, the shadows, the bare feet and single cup of coffee. This photo is worth more than a thousand words! I am in love with this print, and many others by Steven.

You should really do yourself a favor and check out some more of his art!
Here's his Etsy Shop!
And his Website!

After the coffees gone, you know it's time to get dressed and start the day, but each morning, I truly enjoy my quiet, waking-up, coffee time. It's my favorite part of the day.
