Thrifting Day - New Vintage Coming Soon!

Have I mentioned I really love Thrifty Shopper? We found another location, about an hour from home! (Totally worth the drive!!)

This one might be the largest one yet. I have to admit, I walked in and got overwhelmed! I walked around all the outside edges, checked out the shoes, jewelry, and electronics, Had a full basket and decided to check out. I will absolutely be back there, SO much to choose from!

Even one of these nifty Antique Clothes Wringers!

We stopped at a couple thrift stores yesterday. We also went grocery shopping (More baking supplies! Yay!), To PetSmart (Christmas hats & toys for the cats! Hah!), Stopped for Iced Coffees, Checked out Home Depot for blinds, and were pretty much gone all day long! I feel like we're stocking up for winter!

I also feel like I'm doing a lot more thrifting than listing in the shop. I have lots of special vintage items on the way, as soon as I get everything photographed! If you follow me on Twitter, you've probably noticed our nocturnal habits. I'm up all night - but I need sun light for photos! Very soon, My Lovely Readers - New Vintage on the way!

Not tonight though! Tonight is all about hanging out with the guys, Watching the UFC Fights, Drinking too much coffee, and Cozying up to the kittens - My Perfect Saturday Night.

Happy Saturday!!

More Thrifting Adventures!

A while ago, I blogged about our local thrift store closing and opening in a new location down town. The original store is now officially closed, but I've had a chance to check out the new one, so I wanted to report back and let you know what I found out.

For starters, the new place is really big! I also think they have it more organized than the other location. They even have more of a place for a line and extra cash registers so when they have big sales, people don't have to wait in line for an hour. (Awesome!) The inside is Bright, Clean, and not so crammed full with things you get overwhelmed.

With a whole wall just for Shoes and Bags!

Here's some of my Finds from the New Thrifty Shopper -

Two pair of Ferragamo Heels included!! The red pair sold as soon as I listed them. (Yay!) I still have this beautiful black pair of Size 8 Salvatore Ferragamo Oxford Style Heels. What a great find!

Salt City Antique Show

We traveled to Syracuse today for a big antique show on the New York State Fair Grounds. It's called the 'Salt City Antique Show'! It was a perfect fall day, and the drive was full of the beautiful bright colors of fall. The leaves on the trees are amazing this time of year in Upstate, NY. We stopped on the way for Iced Lattes and a Pumpkin Donut - So they day was off to a great start!

The show was held in this really cool old building, I liked the color theme!

It didn't cost us much to get in, and once you got inside, it opened up into this huge building FULL of antique and vintage vendors. This photo only show about a half of the size of the place, if I had turned the other way, there were as many vendors on the other side.. (Warning Cell Photos)-

I was, of course, immediately drawn to the booths with the clothing, shoes, hats, etc-

Tomorrow, I am going to take photos of all the wonderful items I found for the S.S. Vintage, You'll have to wait till then to see the loot! Stay tuned for a shop update!

Until tomorrow, Here's some awesome finds at the Antique Show that we left for others to find and bring home -

I can't believe how many great things I found! I also had a fun time talking to the vendors and bartering for even better deals. All antique shows should be as fabulous as this one!

Do you like to go to antique shoes? Where's your favorite place to hunt and thrift for vintage?

Thrift Store Closing..

One of my favorite thrift stores in town, called 'Best kept Secret' is closing! Oh No!

It's okay! They have moved and already opened in another location in town. (Phew!) And for the next week, we have both!

We stopped at our old favorite today after a trip to the post office. It's in a great old building -

I wonder what they will do with the building when it's no longer a thrift store. We found some great things, all for the shop! Here's a little sneak peak!

Some of todays finds.

Great shoes, a couple bags, and some nice vintage costume jewelry! I'm hoping for nice weather tomorrow so I can get good pictures of all of it! Updates coming to the shop soon.

The new thrift store looks great! It's in a huge spot. I must find out more soon!

Antiquing Adventures!

One of my favorite things to do when I'm visiting my mom is check out all the local Antique stores! You can drive in any direction from her house and you're bound to run into several. Its fun to see all the old items, and always educational to see different items that I should be on the hunt for to add to my own shop!

Weekend of Antique Shops

I'm home from my weekend in the country. I was able to visit with Family from New York City, Texas, and North Carolina, and other family I have not seen in years! I saw my Niece graduate from High School, Visited Antique shops all over, Had a family get together or two, Went to a couple new restaurants, and then finished the weekend up Roller Skating with my youngest niece. I tried to make lots of plans to get together with my family again over the summer. I had a fabulous time this past weekend!

We must have visited ten different antique stores this weekend. I wanted to show some photos of some of the bigger places. We were in small towns, but these old barn and buildings were full to the brim with rooms and floors of antiques and treasures.

I only wish we would have had more time to explore in these places! Of course, I could have spend 12 hours in just one of these shops, and probably still would have felt like there were things I didn't have a chance to look at!

I purchased a couple things at each shop, But this next place was my favorite.

The top floor of this old Carriage House had nothing but antique chairs! There were also rooms full of furniture, tools, books, art, and endless other goodies.

The first night when we got back to my moms place, I took this photo of some of my finds. This is only a tiny portion of the goodies I found, and doesn't show the SEVEN Vintage and Antique Cameras I found and purchased for the Shop.

I had a lovely long weekend, but I'm glad to be home. I always miss my Boyfriend and our Cat. It will be good to get back into the swing of things on Etsy and the rest of life.

What are you doing with your Summer??

Coffee Break and An Army of Dolls

I was out this morning, looking for vintage goodies for the shop. One of my favorite places to stop for coffee of lunch while we are downtown is this sweet little cafe and bakery called Port City.

port city

They have the Best baked goods ever, and they make sandwiches too, on fresh baked bread. I had a delicious raspberry muffin, and of course iced hazelnut coffee! A perfect break on a hot day while we're out shopping and thrifting.

We also stopped at a local pawn shop, and I was able to get a whole bunch of Vintage Jewelry for the shop, and half an army of russian stacking dolls! I'm excited to have some new things to list in the shop.

Shop updates coming later tonight!
Have a Happy Monday!
