Hello S.S. Vintage readers! This is Stephanie from Maybe Someday We’ll Be Smarter and I’m guest posting today for Samantha. For the past few days, the weather has been good to Southern California. Factor in daylight savings time this Sunday and I’m ready for spring to finally arrive. So I thought I’d share some of the items on my spring must have list. The cool thing is that you can probably find these items on my list at your local thrift store or on Etsy.
When I was growing up I had a pair of saddle shoes that I wore everyday until they fell apart. Last year I purchased Bass high heeled saddle shoe version, but now I would like to get the flat sole counterpart. I like the fact that they add a vintage/retro feel to any outfit and they are a nice break from your usual flat ballet style shoes. I’ll have save up my pennies and get the Rachel Antonoff designed version. I love the flowers on it.
I’m not one for a minimalist looking dress. It needs to have at least one of the following, ruffles, lace, color, print such as polka dots, stripes or gingham. If a dress can pull off three of those items without looking garish, then the dress is definitely a keeper.
There’s something about a pleated skirt that looks so ladylike especially when it’s knee length or below. I just like the way the skirt swishes as you walk. Plus depending on the length, it has potential twirl factor. Who doesn’t like twirling around in one?
Thanks for checking out my guest post and special thanks goes out to Samantha for letting me post!
