Whew~What a Wednesday!

It was non-stop GO!

It was Alexa's last day at All Stars Montessori yesterday. She was fine up until the morning of and then I could see in her face and eyes that it was hitting her that she wouldn't be going back.
Luckily, she had a fun field trip on her last day to Cleary Lake in Prior Lake and since I hadn't gone on any trips with her all year (um yes, guilt ridden), I decided to go on this one.

We had a blast. We rode the bus (I haven't in YEARS), took the kids on paddle boat rides, played at the park and had a picnic lunch. It was a perfect day to be outdoors and I wished it could have lasted longer. My favorite was the paddle boat rides. I loved taking the kids around the lake. Alexa wanted to help steer, Matthew wanted to either fish or jump in and Paige who has the shortest little legs wanted to help paddle.

I found it funny that Alexa's little group of friends worried more about who was going to sit with each other on the bus on the way back than actually enjoying the park but, that's typical girls for ya.

Some of the kids complained of being bit by red ants on the playground. So, we took all the kids away from that area. One little girl must have had a severe phobia of bugs and spiders and any sort of crawly insect. She shivered with fear and swore she had tons of little ants crawling all over her body. After giving her body a good once-over and brushing my hands across her clothes and skin, just to be sure, I assured her there was nothing on her and to not be afraid. But, it must have been like when people say the word "head lice" and your head instantly starts itching because she was in a deep stage of panic. Poor thing. I pawned her off on Ms. Keiya!

Speaking of Ms. Keiya - HILARIOUS watching her steer the paddle boat up next to the dock. You had to be there, but I'm laughing inside just thinking about it.

When we got back to the school, Alexa laid on her cot for a little rest. She held her blanket and looked at me with sad eyes. I couldn't tell if she was just tired, didn't want me to leave, or she was really sad about missing her friends. Time will tell.

Ms. Tracy agreed to have Alexa come back for snack some time with her friends. I want to do something special for her teachers to let them know how much they meant to Alexa (and us). Any ideas??? Either comment or E-mail them to me.

Your head itches now doesn't it?

I took the girls to the 2nd concert in the park for the summer. We listened and danced to the music of 20 Stories High. There weren't as many people there as when "Elvis" was performing, but the most important person (for Alexa anyway) was there - Lynette. She sure remembered Alexa and Lillian, waved to them and danced the night away.

We ended up leaving early because Lillian had a huge blister on the bottom of her big toe. Granted, I'M SURE it hurt. But, when a 2 year old is TIRED on top of something hurting, the level of pain increases ten fold. You know what I mean?

Greeting us in the driveway when we got home was Adam and a gal (Amber) from some college that I can't remember, trying to sell us children's book that are supposed to give our kids a 'head start' to kindergarten. I was like, "Do you know where my kids go to school? Sorry lady, but no kind of books you are trying to sell me door to door compare to the things they learn at All Stars Montessori. I have no need for these 50+ books ~ Sorry!"

We sat on our front steps (or porch as she called it) and listened to her spiel anyways. You know, to be kind and courteous of the college student trying to earn an extra buck (even though she insisted that she was not a starving college student). I personally, liked her accent and the way she spoke of these books..encyclopedia's..whatever. She was clearly from the south and said, "Y'all" and "check this out" every other sentence.

After assuring us that she was not the one who created these books and we wouldn't be hurtin' her feelin's if we didn't buy them, we declined and thanked her for coming.
Whew, got that over with!

I tried helping Adam put the girls to bed, but I had to get ready myself. I reluctantly left the house with Lillian screaming her lungs out. But it's like ripping off a band-aid, ya just gotta do it, and do it quick. In my case, Lillian was going to cry when I left regardless so, the quicker I said goodbye and left, the better and quicker for Adam to start calming her down.

I met up with Inna, Tori and Courtney and we drove the movie theatre in Apple Valley for the 10 o'clock showing of ECLIPSE (the 3rd installment of the Twilight series). WOW, what a good movie. Lots more action, faster paced and a lot more Jacob without a shirt on. YEAH BABY!
Inna, Tori and Courtney were 100% TEAM JACOB. Courtney and Tori even made tee-shirts - yeah!

But, I'm on the fence. Jacob is with out a doubt a 15 on a scale of 1 to 10. But, there is something about that sparkly vampire Edward, that's intriguing. Maybe it's the whole vampire thing...I don't know?

Who's team are you on?
