Hit the Trail

This is Cupcake, my childhood dog. At times when life was rough, she was my savior. A Beagle German Shepard mix, she weighed 40 pounds ...small but she had a big bark.

I got her when I was 10 after many years of begging for a dog...and just before my parents got divorced. She loved to go for walks, camping, running, canoeing and skunking. Anything outdoors...except swimming. Being in the water was a terror to her. She lived to the ripe old age of 16 and even attended my wedding reception. I took this picture just before we started off on a hike. She was a little impatient to get going. "Mom, you are taking too long!" I'll always remember her.

This is Jaunty. One of the Guide Dogs for the Blind puppies that we raised in Colorado. She was my "baby" and very hard to give up. She's now she's living as a guide with her person in Illinois.

P.S. Can ya tell? I Love white labs! :)
