Twinchie Quilt

Good morning! Today I am sharing a card that I made for a swap over on SCS. I rarely participate in swaps, but this one was to use Anna Wight/Whipper Snapper stamps and the Joy Fold technique. I have had this adorable Homespun Quilt set for a little while now and knew it would be perfect for this swap. I stamped two of the images (two times each) onto a cream Twinchie square with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The outer blocks are colored with Copics (green and pink) and the inner pieces were paper pieced with adorable prints from the October Afternoon Farm Fresh collection. Half of the sentiment is stamped on the outside of the card and the rest is on the inside. The card base is PL Lipstick Red from Gina K. Designs. The panels are more of the yummy OA Farm Fresh collection. (I love, love this cardstock). To finish off the card, I added some teeny tiny rhinestones to two of the quilt squares and some ribbon from my stash.

Two for Tuesday

Hi there! I thought I would share two cards that I created this summer. See, I told you I had a bunch of stuff I needed to clean out of my "to be blogged" folder. :) Both of these cards were created for the Dare to get Dirty challenges over on SCS back in July.

This card covered two DTGD challenges. They were: DTGD09debdeb Moved by Music and DTGD09Toy Color My World

The color part was easy, I didn’t have the exact cardstock, so I used colors that I thought were pretty close. The Moved by Music part was TOUGH! I looked at my stamps and drew a blank. I saw this cute little surfboard stamp by Savvy sitting on my shelf and the song Surfin’ Safari by the Beach Boys came into my head. I finished it off with this cute little sentiment from Anna Wight/Whipper Snapper

This card covered three DTGD challenges. They were: DTGD09BevMom Sew Unexpected, DTGD09rainy Sketch Challenge and DTGD09PickleTree Born to be Wild

I pondered over this card for a couple of days, I knew I needed to combine these challenges in order to get them all completed and uploaded on time. I picked this great DP from Bo Bunny’s Abbey Road collection and added some chocolate cs from Prismatics as the base and accent pieces. I faux sewed down the sides of the center piece and added some bling. The cute little owl and the sentiment are from Hero Arts. The ribbon is from my stash.

Blessings to You

Hi there! I hope everyone is having a great Friday. I have been waiting for my CSSDT box to arrive from Gina K Designs, but snail mail is at it's best this week. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will arrive tomorrow.

I spent the day finishing up my class kits for tomorrow and then decided to make this cute little card using my new Give Thanks (Anna Wight) set from Whipper Snapper. I knew I wanted to use the Snow and Cedar 6 x 6 paper pack from Poppystamps so that was my jumping off point. I ended up using four colors of paper from this pack! I love the little teeny tiny dots that this paper has. I decided to use the tree from the Give Thanks set and away I went. The base card is 4 1/4" square. I layered the light blue dot cs and then three of the green prints to form a hillside. I stamped the tree on the blue print first and then I embossed it onto some bark cardstock w/clear embossing powder. I cut the tree out (without the leaves) and paper pieced it to the card. I stamped the tree again on one of the orange prints from my Basic Grey Indian Summer 6 x 6 pad. I cut each leaf out and rolled a half a mini glue dot and placed them where they needed to be on the tree. (about now, I can hear AW cackling like a hen as I fuss to get each leaf in place). To finish off the card, I cut a few leaves for the ground, went around each leaf with the Chocolate Spica glitter pen, did some faux stitching, added a couple of buttons (tied w/twine as buttons should never be naked....never,never ever). I finised off the card with the "blessings to you" sentiment from the same set. If you need any of this goodness, you can get it here.

Yum O! Strawberry Limeade!

Here is a fun card that I created for a few of the Dare to Get Dirty challenges over on SCS a couple of weeks ago. I think this was one of my favorite cards that I did for the challenges. I started with a sketch and the inspiration of bright summery colors. There was also a challenge to use a food item. I had recently purchased this fun print K & Co. paper and knew it would be perfect. I stamped the fun littleAW/Whipper Snapper cooler with Adirondack Pitch Black ink and colored it with my Copics. I cut it out with my petite oval nesties and layered it all up. I added some Glossy Accents to the ice cubes and then stamped the little citrus wedge and colored it up like a lime. I cut a little slit in the top of the glass and slid the lime in. It is hard to see, but after I colored the straw, I went over it with a yellow Spica glitter pen.

The inside is pretty self explanatory, I stamped the words and used my Copic marker to swipe a little color accross the sentiment.

Well, I must run and pick up the house a bit. I will be heading to the store in a bit to put out some new Fall stamps and lots of new paper. I'll take my camera and share a peek later.

Sweet Sunday Sketch #29

I loved Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch yesterday and couldn't wait to get into the studio and play. I know it's a bit hot outside and I should have used a summery image, but I have had this little Anna Wight kitty from the Cozy Critters set out on my desk waiting to be used. So I went with it and just love the way it turned out. I used several colors of Copics to color the little guy to match Peachy, one of the cats at The Cat's Meow. Peachy and I are buddies, especially when I have turkey or chicken for lunch!

Oh, I digress, back to the card. I paper pieced Mr. Kitty's scarf and hat. Anna must have cackled like a hen, when she drew the little scarf. I am sure she knew that someone would want to paper piece it and make themselves a crazy loon in the cutting out process. Anna wins!

The cute little santa hat is from the same set and was much easier to paper piece. Whew! For the white parts of the hat, I added a little Carrera Marble glitter from Martha. Very cool in person! The button and sentiment are in true AW style also.

Friends Bloom

I created this card using Sketch 38 from the Clean and Simple blog. The print cardstock is from Memory Box's Homespun collection. The stamps are from Anna's Friendly Expressions and Blooming Expressisons sets from Whipper Snapper. The flowers were colored with Copics and sparkled up a bit with Spica Glitter pens. The adorable 1/8" ribbon was a gift and I would love to find some more just like it. (hint to my ribbon buyer--you know who you are) :)

We're Friends

Hi there! Happy Wednesday to you all. I am pretty sure that it is supposed to be Spring, but you couldn't tell it by today's whether, cold and gray. Yuk! I hope this card will help to bring out the glorious Spring weather we normally have this time of year.

I just love this turtle and his little bird buddy. The stamps used are from Anna Wight's Sending Happy Thoughts set, you can find it here. I paper pieced the turtle with print paper from Kaisercraft's Spirograph collection. The rest of the turtle and the birdy were colored with my Copic markers. I pierced a line of holes in the top and faux stitched with a dark brown Tombow marker. I used Adirondack Espresso ink for the sentiment.

You're one of a Kind

I hope everyone had a nice Easter. I had a very relaxing day and found lots of time to "play" in my stamp room. First I worked on some projects that we will be putting on display in the store, I can't show you them right now, but soon.

For this card, I used the Poppy from Anna's Blossoms and Butterflies set and the sentiment is from the Friendly Expressions set. The layout was inpired by a card I found while blurfing (blog surfing) The card is the second one in this post on Kristie Lee's blog, Cupcake Martini. I just recently found Kristie's blog and love her clean and simple style. Thanks for the inspriation Kristie!

The green checked print paper is from the Memory Box Homespun 6 x 6 paper pad. The orange print cardstock is from a Basic Grey 6 x 6 pad (I can't remember which one). I punched the lace edge with my Martha punch. The flower was stamped with Lettuce Adirondack ink on the stem and Espresso Adirondack ink on the blossom. I stamped the blossom twice and colored with my Copic markers. The second blossom was popped up on foam tape. I added a little shimmer with my Spica Glitter pens. The natural twine was from my stash. For the finishing detail, I added a rhinestone at the end of the sentiment in place of the period that was there.
