CSS Alumni Blog Hop

Hi there!  Tonight I am sharing a card that I created for for a blog hop being hosted by members of StampTV Center Stage Alumni. A group of us have decided to get together a couple of times a month and host a themed hop in order to share our love for Gina K. stamps.  For this hop we were given this photo as inspiration.  If you've arrived from my pal Lori McAree's blog then you're at the right place! As soon as I saw this picture I knew I would be using Melanie's adorable Candles on Your Cake set.  I was also inspired by the wonderful bright colors.in the photo and knew that the striped paper from the October Afternoon Farm Fresh pad would be perfect to create little presents with. I punched 1" squares from the paper and adhered them to some white Inchie squares. I tied 3 of them up like little gifts with some teeny tiny ribbon from my stash.  I stamped the bottom of the cupcake with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and then colored it with Copic markers (R29, R11).  The cupcake top was stamped with Memento Canteloupe ink and then I piled on some light yellow Liquid Pearls and a boatload of Limone' Art Institute glitter.  I attached the cupcake pieces to the forth Inchie square and adhered them all to a piece of Turquoise Sea  GKD PL cardstock and then layered to a white card that was embossed with dots.  The inside of the card was decorated using some of the scraps from the front.

Twinchie Quilt

Good morning! Today I am sharing a card that I made for a swap over on SCS. I rarely participate in swaps, but this one was to use Anna Wight/Whipper Snapper stamps and the Joy Fold technique. I have had this adorable Homespun Quilt set for a little while now and knew it would be perfect for this swap. I stamped two of the images (two times each) onto a cream Twinchie square with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The outer blocks are colored with Copics (green and pink) and the inner pieces were paper pieced with adorable prints from the October Afternoon Farm Fresh collection. Half of the sentiment is stamped on the outside of the card and the rest is on the inside. The card base is PL Lipstick Red from Gina K. Designs. The panels are more of the yummy OA Farm Fresh collection. (I love, love this cardstock). To finish off the card, I added some teeny tiny rhinestones to two of the quilt squares and some ribbon from my stash.

Pastel Inchie Cards

Here is my set of inchie notecards that I made last week. This set came about because I wanted to make a card for the Stamp Simply challenge last week. I have had these wonderful watercolor notecards for quite some time and have been wanting to use them. I started by embossing one of the Formal Squares Cuttlebug folders on each of the notecards. I knew I wanted a watercolor look for the inchies and because the Inchie Squares are made of a very high quality artboard, I knew I wouldn't have a problem if my image was a tad wet when I stamped it. I rummaged through my flower stamps and finally picked two from Hero Arts and two from Penny Black (links on the left) and colored them in with Tombow markers and lightly spritzed with water before I stamped them on the inchie squares. Once they were dry, I added some little words from Papertrey (also linked on the left) and Stickles glitter glue. Inchie Sminchie

Aren't these inchies the cutest? This little card is 3 x 3 in size. The best thing about this one is that everything used (except the inchie) was from my scrap stash. I just love that! I made this card for our first Inchie swap at the store. For this month the only requirement was to put your inchie on a card of some sort.

For the inchie I stamped the Inchie Frame from Lockhart Stamp Co. and the flower is from Hero Arts onto a white inchie square. I colored the flower with Prismacolor pencils. The stamped panel was framed with paper from Collage Press, Bazzill, WorldWin and Treehouse Memories. The image was stamped in Black Onyx Versafine ink.

We are still looking for a good name for our inchie club, if you have any ideas I would love to hear them.
