I am a happily married mother of two beautiful and active children. When our son was born 5 1/2 years ago I gave up my career in Marketing to become a full-time stay-at-home mother. Then my daughter was born 3 years ago. A year and a half ago my husband joined us at home due to a sudden and crippling illness. I have attempted to run my own business as a graphic and web designer but with the declining economy and the demands of caring for two very active children and a disabled adult, work became harder to focus on.
Crafting has become my outlet for stress, and I confess some days I feel happiest when I'm sitting at my desk in front of, not my computer, but my sewing machine! With a background in art and design, crafting came quite naturally. I love to repurpose items like t-shirts, jewelry and thrift store finds in my designs. Everything I see is an inspiration or potential piece of fabric, trim or dangle. Finding new and creative ways to make functionally beautiful items brings me joy.
Meeting people like Wendy at Wink's Pretty Little Things makes me feel so totally un-crafty!! I always thought I was creative, but after looking at the talent some people have making such lovely, unique items, I think otherwise.

I received this beautiful blue ruffle scarf from Wendy and my daughter Alexa claimed it as her own before I could even get it out of the box. She has been digging out clothes to match her lovely scarf all week. I'm not going to lie...it looks pretty cute on her. BUT, she will be sharing with her Mommy! :)
