Happy Monday!! :) I'm up and energized, feeling good about the week ahead.
We had a fabulous weekend. Saturday 'day' was a bit rough, as the girls were sooo excited about their Birthday Party and all their friends coming, they exhausted themselves and picked on each other non-stop. I reluctantly took them both to Chuck E. Cheese's to celebrate their friend Siah's Birthday in the afternoon. It ended up turning out ok, tho. (I thought 2 Birthday's in one day, might be a little much) They had a blast, ate pizza and played games. We cut out early to make it home in time for their friends to arrive for their party. The weather was SO nice out that it was fun to see the girls wearing summer clothes/dresses. They jumped on the trampoline until everyone got there (8 girls total) and then we brought them all in for pizza. The ate, and giggled, like all little girls do. Alexa went around the table and introduced all her friends to each other. It was so cute. After pizza, we brought out cupcakes, sang Happy Birthday and then gathered them all in the basement to open presents. The girls both received such nice things. Lillian was so grateful, she thanked all her friends over and over. Then it was time for crafts. I picked up a few princess crowns and wands at Michaels and let them decorate those. They seemed to enjoy turning themselves into sparkly princesses! They ran around, screamed and played afterwards. I let them be, as long as they weren't fighting and nobody was getting hurt.
One of the little girls came up and said she was ready for bed. So we started the movie at about 8:30. Adam set up a make shift movie theatre in our basement for them, with a projector screen up on the wall. The girls got in the jammies and snuggled in their sleeping bags on the floor. I swear they all would have fallen asleep, but I had made some popcorn and snacks for them to have during the movie...and once I brought those down - they got their 2nd wind. They started playing, doing each other's hair and having a good time. So, after the movie was finished, I started it again and suggested they all try to lay down and watch it and fall asleep if they wanted to. One by one they all started nodding off. Such well behaved girls. They were all up bright and early between 7 and 7:30. They all begged Adam to go get them doughnuts for breakfast. And being the nice Daddy that he is (he'd do ANYTHING for his princesses), he went and got doughnuts for everyone. Then they took turns performing for each other on the dance stage, singing and dancing. I just can't get over how well they all played together. They played a few games, Duck Duck Grey Duck and Doggy Doggy Where's Your Bone?, colored and jumped on the trampoline some more before their parents came by to pick them all up.
For a first time slumber party...I think it went VERY well!! Alexa and Lillian had so much fun, they set their squabbles aside from earlier in the day and loved each other during the party. They shared their new toys and played so nice together. They ended the weekend with a bath and toasted each other another GREAT year with a glass of milk.
