Amelia Earhart once said, "No kind action ever stops with itself. One kind action leads to another. Good example is followed. A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees. The greatest work that kindness does to others is that it makes them kind themselves."
We all know that kindness goes a long way.
Sometimes a simple smile is all it takes to make someones day.
Teaching my kids the benefits of being kind is a lesson that they will carry through with them forever. It's important to my husband and I to raise our kids with examples of kindness not only at home, but at school, on the playground, in our neighborhood and so on. Being the giver, receiver or even witnessing an act of kindness can bring happiness to your day and influence your health and well-being. We want our children to make positive impacts and influence others in spreading joy to one another.
Please join The Learning Station's Kindness Counts Campaign by counting you and your child's acts of kindness, compassion and good deeds.
Kindness comes in all forms and it's one of the easiest things to do.
Print out your Kindess Chart, hang it on the fridge and encourage your kids to start off by doing 3 kind things a day. Inspire them by keeping your own chart, too. And most importantly, recognize your child's good behavior and kind acts by celebrating and praising them with encouraging words.
My kids have their chart hanging up on the fridge and it's fun to sit around the dinner table each night and talk about all the kind things we've done during the day as well as share the kind acts others have given us.
Make being kind a part of your day.
Share your acts of kindness at The Learning Station and you could win an award winning The Learning Station CD, a signed copy of The Book About Tony Chestnut, a dedication to educators t-shirt or a Tony Chestnut t-shirt.
Kindness is contagious...spread it!!
