My Thoughts:
Paula Deen's Savannah Style is one big, beautiful book filled with out-of-this-world photographs of not only Paula's own home, but some of the finest homes in Savannah. From the charming front porches and gardens to the elegant dining rooms and libraries, there is a decorating style that will appeal to most anyone's taste.
One of my favorite parts of the book is Paula's description of the little dock house that she has restored as a getaway retreat. As someone who longs for a retreat of my own, I love the comfortable furnishings and personal touches she has used in this tiny piece of paradise.
Paula has turned her love of decorating and making her home comfortable into a new line of furniture and decor, called Paula Deen's Home. (This little desk is one of the pieces from the collection that I covet lustily!!)
Showcasing the unique and delightful Southern style of decorating, there is even a tip or two that Paula and Brandon share in this book that our friends north of the Mason-Dixon line (or even across the Pond) will find applicable in their own homes!
Co-written with her longtime personal assistant and creative director Brandon Branch, Paula Deen's Savannah Style is one of those special books that will be set out to be enjoyed and referred to for a long time to come.
About The Author:
Paula Deen was born and raised in Albany, Georgia. She later moved to Savannah, where she and her two sons, Bobby and Jamie, started the Bag Lady catering company. The business took off and evolved into The Lady & Sons Restaurant, which is located in Savannah's historic district and specializes in Southern cooking, as well as Uncle Bubba's Seafood, which co-owns with her brother.
