CSS Sketch Blog Hop



Hi there!  Wow, it has been awhile since I really sat down and stamped.  Well, as you can see my card for tonights hop is pretty simple.  My desk is still a disaster and Mr. Mojo was nowhere to be found.  I chose this adorable little jellyfish from the Gina K. Designs Make a Splash set because in two days I will be getting on a plane and heading for the land of sunny beaches.....Kona, Hawaii.  Hubby and I are going to be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and I can't wait to get on that plane and go.  It is supposed to rain here at home Saturday and Sunday (possibly even some snow) Egads!  Isn't this May?

CSS Sketch Hop

I am gathering with some of my fellow Center Stage Spotlight Alumni members for a fun sketch challenge.  Guess what, I created this sketch that we all used.  I really like this sketch and can't wait to see what my fellow CSSers do with it. You should have arrived here from seeing Lori's beautiful creation, if not you can go back to StampTV and start from the beginning....you don't want to miss a thing.



So, here is the sketch we used:

I haven't made a shaker card in years so I decided I would break out the nesties and glitter and create one.  I stamped the trees from the GKD Winter Wonderland set in Meadow Adirondack ink onto a piece of print paper from Websters Pages. I layered up some more of these pretty papers for the front of the card, added some little snowflakes/ribbon/pearls and called it good. 

Now for the inside of the card.  I used a sentiment from the GKD Festive Frame set.  I added another stacked snowflake with a little pearl in the center.

Holiday Wishes

Good Monday morning to you all!  I want to start by wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving week.  I hope you take some time to enjoy a yummy meal and the company of family and friends.  I am not a black Friday shopper.  For those of you who are, I hope you find everything you head out looking for.



The card I am sharing with you today is for the  StampTV Spotlight Sketch (STVSPSK3) this week.  I used stamps from the Winter Foliage set to create a signature (for me) pinecone Christmas card, I started with a base card of PL Kraft cardstock.  I cut it to 4 1/4" x 11" and folded in half with the card opening on the right.  Then I layered up some PL Red Hot and Memory Box dot cardstocks.  I stamped the sentiment on a piece of kraft and adhered it to the card in the "flag" fashion. The image was stamped onto PL Ivory cardstock and layered to some more Red Hot cardstock.  The pine sprigs were stamped a second time and I snipped between the needles, added some ink around the edges and a little bit of Smooch to give them some shimmer.  I popped these up over the stamped image and finished the pine cones with some Cinnamon Stickles.   A little red twine bow/button combo and some green Dew Drops were added to finish off the card.

CSS Hope is Faith Inspiration Blog Hop

Feelings of Hope

Gina challenged the CenterStage Spotlight team to make a card with the new Hope is Faith stamp set using the photo above for inspiration. Check out Gina's blog for all the details on this special stamp set. I have created three cards to share with you tonight. The first one was inspired by the photo above.

I started with a base of PL Fresh Asparagus and then layered with some print cardstock from My Mind's Eye followed by some PL Sweet Corn that was punched

with a Fleur De Lis Edge punch and layered with some more print cardstock and a pretty satin bow. The beautiful butterfly image was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on PL Sweet Corn and colored with Copic Markers and then I ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots EF. I stamped the butterfly a second time with Stazon Black ink on acetate and layered it onto the stamped image. The butterfly was finished off with some Diamond Stickles. For the inside of the card, I stamped the butterfly in Versamark ink and then overstamped the sentiment from the Hope is Faith set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

This card was created completely with scraps that were on my desk. I love that! The solid cardstocks are PL White, PL Lipstick Red and Passionate Pink. You will find them here. The butterfly was colored with Copics and Spica Glitter pens. The layout for this card was inspired by this card created by Cindy Lawrence. The size of this card is 3" x 6". I like this size, small but mighty!

This final card is a biggie at 5" x 7". I used PL Lipstick Red, PL Passionate Pink and PL White for the layers. The pink layer was embossed with the Victoria (?) CB EF. I inked each of the butterflies with several inkpads in shades of pink to red. Of course, they were finished off with some Diamond stickles and fun buttons.

Gina K Designs Preview Day 2-Vintage Borders

Hi there!

I am so happy to be joining in on the fun tonight and sharing a couple of cards for the preview of one of the new sets to be released by Gina K Designs on Thursday night. This set is called Vintage Borders and was illustrated by the talented Nina Brackett.

For my first I used Gina K Pure Luxury Smoky Slate cardstock that will be releasing on Thursday, immediately following the release party on Splitcoaststampers. The card front was embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I stamped and embossed the scallop border and scripture verse with silver ink and detail silver embossing powder. The light blue panel was embossed with a snowflake folder and the scallops borders were attached to each side. I added some snowflake and sprig punchies and lots of tiny rhinestones for sparkle. I finished the card off by using my Sakura Stardust pen on some of the embossed snowflakes.

For my next card, I embossed the ornament image from Vintage Borders with gold ep and punched out a section with a 7/8" square punch and mounted it to a black inchie square. The frames for the image were created using my Nesties Labels One. The cardstock is Gina K's Vibrant Violet which was released last month. The background of the card was stamped with Versamark ink and one of the images from the Vintage Borders. I embossed "peace" (also from this great set) in gold and finished it off with a little gold cording.
