I feel like all I've been blogging about lately is how NICE the weather is becoming. Well, I'm going to mention it one more time - the weather is AMAZING right now. The grass is still brown and areas are still pretty muddy from the melted snow, BUT the temps are starting to creep into the 50's and 60's and well...it's just awesome!!
Ok, so the other day I got done with work, picked Lilli up from school and head home where Alexa, her babysitter Tori and their friends Hannah and Courtney were in the back yard jumping on the trampoline. The sun was shining and the girls had their pants rolled up like shorts, the "babysitters" stripped down to just a cami and life was good. Courtney, Hannah and Tori left and I stayed out and jumped on the trampoline with the girls, enjoying our time together in the gorgeous spring air. We jumped for quite awhile actually which led to a later dinner for us. We were all pretty hungry right away when we finally went inside, so I went for something quick..mac & cheese and hot dogs with fruit and veggies. We quickly ate and went back outside. We took Chip for a walk down the street and then back for the girls to ride their bikes for a bit.
By the time we got inside it was pushing 8 o'clock, which is usually when I'm putting them to bed - and we hadn't even started homework yet. I quickly slipped them into their jammies and got Alexa set up at the table with her math homework, while I got Lilli a snack and some water. Lilli also wanted some "homework" to do, so I got her flashcards out and worked on numbers and counting. Meanwhile, Alexa is busy as a bee working on her homework and complaining that I pinky promised her that we could paint her nails. (P.S. remind me to NEVER pinky promise her anything ever again) So, anyways, the point is, I was kind of running a bit crazy and maybe even a little bit flustered - all the while thinking I had things totally under control. Alexa finished her homework and showed it to me. I gave her a big A+ and a smiley face because she did so awesome. She was adding number in the 20's and I was like..Way to Go Alexa, what a little Rockstar!!
We moved right along to her "Book-in-the-Bag" reading book. She brings a book home every night to practice reading and then returns it the next day, reads it to a friend in her class and then brings another one home..ect. She read through the book like a champ, no mistakes - so, it was off to brush teeth and to bed. Whew! Considering how quickly we flew through it all, I felt like a lot was accomplished in a short amount of time. Alexa was sleeping by the time the hubs came home from work and Lilli was "lights out" soon afterwards.
Flash forward to the next morning and I'm sitting at work and get an email from the hubs asking me how I could have let Alexa think she had done her math homework right - with this pic attached.
AND realized that I suck a Kindergarten math!! UGH!!
I give Alexa credit for adding such big numbers and getting them all right (for the way she was thinking). But, we both read the equation wrong.
