Today is Veteran's Day, a time when we pause to remember those who have served our country to maintain our freedom and our very way of life.
I take time today to honor my father, Charles Galligar, Jr., a great man who served his country during World War II - first with the Army, then as a part of the American Volunteer Group and the amazing group of men known as The Flying Tigers, who fought in Burma, China and India during the War. He then was a part of the fledgling Air Force and stayed in active duty until his retirement in 1963, shortly after I was born. My father was always proud of his military service, and I am so proud of being his daughter today.

This poem has hung in our home for as long as I can remember, and to me, this is a perfect tribute for Veteran's Day.
Thank You to all who have served and who are serving our country.
