Another big "First" for us this weekend.
Alexa had her 'first' sleepover away from home Saturday night.
Her good friend Hannah (from down the street) invited Alexa to her 6th Birthday Party/Sleepover. Her Mom knew how I felt about the whole staying over night thing, but I figured it was about time I let go and let her have her sleepover that she's been begging for all summer. Plus, it was Hannah's Birthday - how could I say No to that?
Andy and Carissa (Hannah's parents) were so kind to invite us all over for pizza and cake and to hang out, too. (I'm not sure, but I'd bet Carissa did that just for me - she is such a sweetheart) I was having a little bit of a hard time with the whole thing - sleeping away from my baby. The first week of Kindergarten AND her first sleepover in the same week...it was a bit MUCH for Mama to take!! Needless to say, I was thankful for the invite to hang out. We stayed until about 10:30 playing Wii (FUN!) and then said goodnight to our Princess. I was happy that she gave me a big hug and kiss and told me she loved me TWICE in front of her friends. It's nice that she did that without being embarassed, because who knows how long that will last.
Adam's Aunt Nellie and Uncle Fred were up from Texas and stayed at our house Saturday night with Adam's Mom. It was nice to have them there to distract me from thinking about Alexa being gone. We stayed up late, chit chatted and munched on munchies. They are a riot, so my house was filled with tons of loud laughter. I loved it.
Aunt Nellie brought the girls some new jammies
I was anxious to pick her up to see how her night went. She did FINE and had a blast, of course. Not that I expected her not to. But, for all the worrying I do, she could have at least cried once for me...just kidding. I'm not that crazy. She came home with some cute little projects that she made and a cute little fairy princess bucket full of goodies.
Adam let me nap during the first football game (LIFE IS GOOD!!) Then I took the girls out to play catch, ride bike and jump on the trampoline. It was such a gorgeous day that I felt a little guilty about wasting some of it away napping, but I was in desperate need of the rest.
I got the Life is Good Award from Life with the Lebedas and I'm truly honored. Thank you so much for thinking of me. It's such a sweet award and after the awesome weekend I had, it really makes me think of how really GOOD my life is.
In order to receive this award I need to answer the following ten(10) questions and give this award to six (6) other people.
There are times where I wish I would have started to blog anonymously, but for me my blog is real, this is me and my family - nothing to hide or change. I'm pretty open and tell it how it is.
I don't really consider myself too stubborn, although some may disagree. My husband is the stubborn one, so I guess sometimes I retaliate and turn stubborn, just to prove my points. Ha!
I see a wife to an amazing husband and a mother to my beautiful children and a woman who is in desperate need of a haircut. (INNA - HELP!!)
4.) What is your favorite summer cold drink?
I drink lots of water in the summer, but change it up for some lemonade every once in awhile.
I don't have a lot of time to myself, but when I do I like to read, blog, watch TV and make hair clippies.
I want to travel with my husband. I know this probably won't happen until my kids are much older, but I know the day will come and I'm anxious to have that special time with my man!
Hmm, I was quite shy in my earlier years, but I don't think I really classify myself as any of the above. I was friends with everyone! Oh, and I ditched once, too...ok, maybe twice.
I have many...meeting Adam, giving birth to my babies, buying our house, being with family and friends..ect.
It's easy for me to write about myself and my family, because this is me, this is what I know.
