Fyrinnae Order #1

Looking to color my life through my eyes

I've recently gotten into the Indie cosmetics addiction and let me say it is the best addiction to have! Not only are these companies providing affordable makeup, they are providing highly pigmented and amazingly colored products too. Definitely beats out brands like MAC in my opinion, I've never been one to splurge on expensive makeup so choosing these companies over known ones is so much more fun and satisfying!

Enter the top-dog of the Indie brands out there: Fyrinnae. Run by boys and selling possibly some of the most beautiful colors I have ever seen they are definitely the company to order from initially if you are planning on getting into the swing of ordering from these companies. They are not a mineral makeup company though, take note. They provide nothing but meticulously created unique colors that are definitely eye shadows and not pigments.

Take a look for yourself (and be nice about my first time swatching!)

Every order comes nicely wrapped and with a receipt and a handwritten 'Thank You' which I think is a great touch, it definitely makes you fall in love with Fyrinnae all the more. I even got a cute little message from Fyrinnae's chemist regarding the stickers he included in the order which is his trademark (:

Onto the actual products in my order...

These are the sample sized Glow Blushes. 'Intrigue' on the left and 'Enrapture' on the right.

(Just a note, all of my photos will be no flash first and then with flash). From bottom to top: 'Intrigue' swatched, blended, 'Enrapture' swatched and blended. As you can see, 'Intrigue' is a gorgeous dark red and when I wear it I definitely feel almost like a geisha. 'Enrapture' on the other hand is a true pink and wearing it makes you look super fresh and ready to tackle the day.

The following are samples from Fyrinnae's Arcane Magic eyeshadows collection. What the AMs are are eyeshadows that morph in different lighting. It's difficult to capture this on camera but in real life you can definitely see the magic. If you're ordering for the first time, you must order at least one AM!

Left to right: 'Feline Familiars', 'Mystic' and my free sample (Fyrinnae always includes a free sample) and my favorite of these three, 'Conjuror'. You can see how generous they are with their free sample - look how much you get! Isn't it insane?

I also got a full sized shadow from their Endangered animals collection (proceeds go towards the animal which the eyeshadow is named after) in 'Okapi' and a regular shadow, 'Fyre & Ice'.

One thing about Fyrinnae is how generous they are with their samples, look how the full sized on the left and the sample on the right compare. Admit it, it's definitely impressive:

What I did for the following pictures was, the first three are just the shadows swatched dry and the first two shots are without flash and under fluorescent light (sorry, best lighting I can muster for now) and the final shot is with flash. From bottom to top: 'Okapi', 'Fyre & Ice', 'Mystic', 'Feline Familiars' and 'Conjuror':

My favorite is most definitely 'Conjuror', it's such a beautiful color! I think I'll get a full sized one in my next order. I'm also very pleased I got 'Okapi' full sized as it's a fabulous color to wear daily.

What Fyrinnae is famous for is their beyond fantastic Pixie Epoxy which is almost like a primer but definitely not a primer! It is meant to help hold fast the glittery shadows and brings out the true colors of their shadows and trust me, it is THE product you MUST have, Fyrinnae shadows or not. But probably better with their shadows (:

I got a sample, silly me but there's quite a bit in there and I'm pretty sure it'll tide me over for a good while. I'm not taking my chances though and I'm getting a full sized Pixie Epoxy as soon as I can! It's a little difficult to work with if you're a first timer (and also in my case not that great with doing "artsy" things) but with practice it gets easier and it's worth it when your eyeshadow stays fantabulous all day long!

You can notice how different the shadows are swatched over Pixie Epoxy. Again, from bottom to top: 'Okapi', 'Fyre & Ice', 'Mystic', 'Feline Familiars' and 'Conjuror':

What amuses me is how there seems to be a swipe of brilliant purple in my 'Okapi' swatch! Where did that come from?! Oh well, it was a bit of a pretty surprise but I'm hoping there's no more brilliant purple lurking around.

The other great thing about Pixie Epoxy? It washes off with just water, trust me no joke! Glitter and all goes with a simple warm wash. How perfect.

My last purchase had to be one of their lip lustres, just the description of them sounded too good to be true 'Please keep in mind that these are NOT intended to be like lipgloss. This product is a non-sticky lipcolour "stain", leaving moisturizing colour on your lips but no goopy tackiness.' What?! Well of course I had to try one out. So I got 'Indies'.

And honestly, I'm in love. This applies so well and stays on like a charm! The color is beyond amazing and true to their word it's not sticky and is probably in my opinion much better than lipstick! I'm investing on a whole lot more colors that's for sure!

Without flash and with flash. It's a lovely brown and just a dab makes for a nice daily color. I wore this for my ball a few weeks ago though for a dramatic look and it was absolutely perfect. Such a versatile color for all skin tones.

And that concludes my first order from Fyrinnae! Hope you are tempted into ordering from them too, trust me you'll get sucked in and before you know it they'll blow your mind away and change your life forever (:
