Mother Nature's Sick Joke!

Last night Adam and I surprised the girls by taking them to the play "Annie" at the middle school. We got there super early to make sure that we got good seats for them to see. We were able to get them on an aisle seat with a perfect view.

They shared a seat together.

The production was pretty good. The girls really enjoyed it. It started at 7 and didn't get over until after 9, so they got a little bit sleepy towards the end. They turned into snuggle bugs on mine and Adam's laps.

{Funny side story: When I was pregnant with Alexa, Adam took me to the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre (where the famous Amy Adams got her 'start') to see the musical "Annie" for Mother's Day. I was so excited and it was super romantic of him to even think about taking my to a play. So, we got there, got our tickets and then waited in line to get seated. While in line, we saw the big easel with the poster for "Annie". In the picture the little girl who played Annie was Asian. Now, this is not meant to offend anyone, so please don't take offense. But, it's just that when you think of Little Orphan Annie, you think of the a little red-headed girl with freckles, right? Adam made kind of a stink about it in line and wasn't really quiet about it. It embarassed me a ton. I admit, it was a little strange - but, the little girl did an amazing job and had a loads of talent. Fast foward to last nights production of Annie and when Miss Hannigan made her appearance - Adam and I both looked at each other and chuckled, for she was Asian. Again, not taking away from her talent, because she had an incredible voice and actually turned out to be our favorite character of the night. She did an amazing job, but just not your typical Miss Hannigan. - Again, this little tid bit story was not made to offend.}

So, the weather people have been talking snow for the weekend all week. It's kind of one of those things where we kinda joked about it, but never really thought it would get that cold for it to actually snow. We've had 70 degree weather and have been out enjoying it in shorts and tees. Yeah, ok, maybe it could snow, but it would never last when it hit the ground..there was just no way. It would never accumulate to anything for sure.

Well, to our surprise, this is what we saw when we came out of the play last night.

It was snowing like crazy and actually 'sticking'!!

Still, we never thought it would last. In fact, Adam and I both said before we went to bed that it would be all gone in the morning.

Boy, were we wrong!!

I guess this is Mother Nature's way of reminding us that we live in Minnesota.

We are supposed to be at an Easter Egg hunt as I'm typing this, but I didn't think it would be very fun to find Easter Eggs in the snow. Plus, I've put away the girls' snowpants and boots already. I guess I should have known better. Cheers to staying inside today and getting things done..like laundry and vaccuming..!! ;)
