Unfortunately, Adam had to work late on Friday night. He took all his teens to Valley Scare. I figured they wouldn't end up staying long because it was so cold and rainy, but they did. They didn't get back til after midnight.
The girls and I were having a 'girl night' until our neighbors called us to come over. I was putting Lillian to bed, but knew she was still wide awake and wasn't going to fall asleep any time soon, so we decided to go over there to play. We were all in our jammies and it was sprinkling. I bet I looked pretty silly carrying Lillian in my arms and Alexa on my back, running across the street. It was the first time we were able to see and play with James after he had been home from the hospital. He looked so good and back to his normal self. We stayed and played until almost 10:30 and then I brought the girls home to go to bed. Inna was going to come over after she put James down and cut my hair. Viktoriya came over with us and the girls were still wound up, so I just threw in a movie and let them fall asleep on the couch. Inna came over and within 20 mins my hair was looking SO much better than my $7.99 special from Great Clips. I now have BANGS, which I never in my life thought I'd have ever again. But, I like them. They are stylish and they actually don't bug me. It was fun to hang out with Inna. She doesn't get out much without her husband, Mike. So, it was nice to have our 'girl' time.
Saturday was spent cleaning the house, taking a nap and running a few quick errands before taking the kids out trick or treating. It wasn't as cold and windy as I thought it was going to be, but it was still pretty chilly. I didn't want Lillian walking around outside in her tights, so, she was a pink bumble bee.
Adam and I both took them out..and Chip, too. We bought a cute little sweater for Chip to wear. He was a preppy puppy. Lillian was a bit confused at first as to what we were doing, but when she started seeing her pumpkin fill up with candy, she was all about trick or treating. Alexa was in 7th Heaven, running to each house. She couldn't ring the doorbell fast enough. I ended up carrying Lillian most of the way, just to keep up with Alexa. We went up and down the street and around the block. Lillian's pumpkin was so full that her candy started spilling out all over the place so we decided to head home. The girls were just as excited to hand out the candy to trick or treaters at our door.
Adam had to work again Saturday night. He volunteered to clean up the Halloween Party at one of his parks. At least he got to take our girls trick or treating. :) We sat inside and watched Halloween movies on the Disney Channel until he came back home.
Sunday was a big day for football fans, or should I say Minnesotans and Wisconsinites. The Vikings took on the Packers in Lambou (sp) field. It was the big talk..How was Brett Favre going to react playing on his old turf against his old teammates? Was he going to get booed? Was he going to get cheered? Would he choke? Could the Vikes pull it off? The Packers were favored!!
Adam spent the day over at Mike's watching the games. He was in his element and having fun. Football + a good buddy + homemade chili + a couch + a big screen TV = A GOOD DAY! And to top it off the Vikings beat those Packers! :)
The girls and I stayed home, cleaned some more and played outside with the neighbor kids. It was SUCH a nice day. We raked a big leaf pile in the front yard and they played in it for hours. Finally, I had to call Alexa in because it was getting dark. I fed them, bathed them, jammied them and put them to bed. Lillian was sleeping before 7 (she didn't get a nap) and Alexa was sleeping before 8, which gave me some time to upload some more pictures. Please scroll to the bottom of the page to see the girls trick or treating.
As always, the weekend went way too fast. I can hardly believe I'm sitting here at work again. Ugh! I have Dancing with the Stars to look forward to tonight, though, and Castle! :) ...and a massage from my husband...if I'm lucky!
