Blog-Hopping and looking forward to summer reading!

It's also a blog-hopping weekend.  This fun event is sponsored by Jennifer at Crazy-For-Books.com (http://www.crazy-for-books.com/) and is always a lot of fun!  Jennifer asks a weekly question, and this week's is:
"Summer is coming quickly - what 2011 summer release are you are most looking forward to?"

Ok, I'll confess it - I love Danielle Steel's books!  I've read nearly all of her work, ever since her first book, "Going Home," in 1978.

I'm looking forward to her new book, "Happy Birthday," which is coming in July, 2011!

About The Book:

Valerie Wyatt is the high priestess of elegance: She has built an empire on how to entertain, how to decorate, how to live beautifully, and is at the top of her game with licensing arrangements for fine fabrics, furniture, wallpaper; six books; and a highly rated TV show. Valerie's daughter, April, is a classically trained chef and the workaholic proprietor of a comfortable, popular downtown New York restaurant. They couldn't be happier in their chosen fields—or more different in their attitudes. Yet as each faces a major birthday milestone—Valerie her 60th and April her 30th—neither has had a significant relationship for years and both are wistful at what they've sacrificed for success. That is about to change, after a chance encounter in an elevator and one holiday weekend indiscretion.

What book are you looking forward to reading this summer?   Have a great weekend, and as always Happy Reading, Ya'll!

Snapshot Saturday! My First!

Some of my blogger friends participate in this neat meme, so I thought I'd join in the fun!

My roses are doing so well this spring - it's just amazing at the loads and loads of buds that are fixing to pop everywhere!  This is my Lowell Thomas rose - it smells so sweet, just like honey!

I have 50 roses in our backyard, and my husband and I have been fertilizing, and spraying, and tending them this past week - and we've got the sunburn and sore muscles to prove it!  But they reward us in beautiful flowers and sweet smells all summer long!

My sweet husband Don took this wonderful photos!

Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce of At Home With Books.  It’s easy to participate – just post a picture that was taken by you, a friend, or a family member and add your link on Alyce’s site.

To participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky below. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you.

Teaser Tuesday! From "The Goodbye Quilt" by Susan WIggs

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading (http://shouldbereading.wordpress.com/). Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My Teaser today comes from the amazing new book, "The Goodbye Quilt" by Susan Wiggs!  (Be sure to check out my interview with Susan in the post below this one!)

I'm just using one sentence today, because it is such a great sentence!  Found on page 11:

" You can always tells what's going on in a woman's life based on the quilt she is working on."

Ain't that the truth!

Susan has a great contest running in connection with the release of this new book - check it out here:

Happy Reading, Ya'll!
