It's been awhile since I've blogged and the reason is we've been busy and sick.
Going back a few days, Alexa had a blast at Kaitlyn's birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese, but I think she had a little too much fun and that combined with no nap, she was beat. She came down with a terrible cold which she still has today. Poor thing has been blowing her nose constantly for 5 days. Her face is all pale and her nose is red and raw. I just want to hold and rock her in my arms all day long until she is completely better.
We did manage to get to the Apple Valley Home and Garden Expo on Saturday morning. The girls' school had a booth there, so we wanted to visit that and of course get some ideas for our new house (if we get it). I'm getting annoyed with always having to say "if we get it" when talking about the house. But unfortunately, we still don't know. The bank has decided to take their sweet old time. They asked for 7 weeks and to be honest, I've lost track now how long it's been. I know it hasn't been 7 weeks yet, but it sure feels like it's been much longer. The expo was so crowded and packed with people, we basically just walked in and thru and around and out. We saw the girls' teachers at their booth and that was about it. Oh, we did get a tour of a fire truck outside, too. Oh, and we got free icecream from Culvers, so I guess it was worth it.
Afterwards daddy treated us to McDonalds for lunch and some time in the play place. Then, decided to shop around for some washers and dryers, ya know, just incase we get the house.
Sunday we got up and ready for church, we weren't quite on top of things so didn't get there until the 11 o'clock mass. We weren't exactly late for church, but right on time, which still put us in the overflow seating in the very back of the church. I've never seen it so packed before. There were people sitting on the floor in the aisles. A poor girl even got so overheated that she passed out. Ah! Afterwards there was an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids, so we took the girls to that. The Easter Bunny was there and Alexa sure wasn't shy to run up and give him a big hug. Lillian was a little more hesitant. She wanted to see the bunny, just not get too close. We stayed for the pancake breakfast, too.
I started feeling some congestion coming on during the Academy of Country Music Awards Sunday night. I was achy and uncomfortable and my nose was starting to get stuffed up, and what do you know, I woke up with a terrible sore throat Monday morning. Lillian woke up with a runny nose, too. Ahh! Adam suggested we all take the day off and stay home together and rest so that is exactly what we did. We watched lots of movies and just laid low. It felt great.
I was back to work yesterday and the girls back to school. Little Alexa was still pretty punk when I picked her up yesterday, but she insists she is feeling a little better every day.
