Alexa lost another tooth last night.
When I picked her up from school she told me that she felt it 'crack'. I looked in her mouth and it was just hanging there, literally. I told her to just pick it up out of her mouth, it didn't even hardly look attached. But, she said, No.
I mentioned it to her again when we got home, but she was stubborn. She wanted to do it on her terms, when she was ready.
I made supper. Alexa took one bite of her cheese quesadilla with salami and out her tooth came.
It bled much worse that her first one did, so I guess it was a bit more 'attached' than I thought.
She was so proud of herself. She even put her tongue on the open spot. Ick. I always hated that feeling when I lost a tooth.
After watching the movie "The Tooth Fairy", she was excited that "The Rock" would be visiting our house dressed in pale blue with his hockey gear on.
She was concerned that he might wake Lillian up and he'd have to sprinkle the magic fairy dust on her so she'd forget that she'd saw him. She didn't want that to happen, so we left the tooth on the counter rather than under her pillow.
Sure enough, first thing Alexa did when she woke up was ask if we could go check if the tooth fairy had been to our house. We checked the counter where we left the tooth and there it lay, a dollar bill, all rolled up, just like in the movie.
She immediately started rambling on her theories of why the Tooth Fairy has to roll up the money. "So he can carry it better in his sack, Mommy", she said.
She ran to Adam, who was still sleeping and told him the Tooth Fairy had come. Then he proceeded to tell her that he remembers getting fairy dust sprinkled in his face last night when he was up playing FIFA with Timmy until 2am. He said, "Alexa, I must have seen the tooth fairy because I had fairy dust sprinkled in my face. He must have sprinkled it on me so I would forget that I saw him".
Alexa, of course, was in total Awe!
I just love the fact that she is still a believer! Even when Adam plays his silly tricks on her. It's cute he plays along.
At least he didn't try telling her HE was the Tooth Fairy.
