My kids are hilarious!! They just say the funniest things sometimes that make me laugh so hard and also make me wonder where they come up with some of this stuff. Like, when Alexa says she's colder than a potato in the refrigerator. Shivering after coming out of the bathtub, the first thing she thinks of is a cold potato?? Isn't that funny?
The other night Adam's mom came to stay with us for the night because she had an early morning meeting in Minneapolis the next day. She brought a car load of stuff for us to sell at our garage sale. And with that she brought a package of garage sale stickers. The bright neon kind, pink, yellow and green. Well, the girls thought it would be funny to put all the garage sale stickers on ME last night while I was trying to fix them dinner. It annoyed me a little bit because they were kind of in my way. But, they were laughing and having fun putting the stickers all over my shirt and pants. Before I knew it, I was covered in neon stickers that read 25 cents, 50 cents, $1, $5 and so on. After awhile, I made the comment to both of them, "Who's going to want to buy a crabby old Mama?" They were both quiet for awhile and then Alexa finally spoke up and said, "Well Mom, if you're still there at the end of the sale, I'll buy you". Gee, thanks Alexa. Then she said, "But, nobody is going to want to buy you Mom, because you cost too much money." I asked her how much money I cost and she said, "I don't know, but (looking at all the stickers covering my body) NOBODY has THAT much money."
GOOFBALL!!
Lillian has a couple new sayings herself, that I have a feeling are going to really upset me later on, but for now they are super cute and funny. Especially the way she says them.
1.) She says "Seriously". And uses it in the right context. Almost like she is 14 years old already. Absolutely adorable when she says it now, but not so much when she becomes a teenager.
2.) I've NEVER liked when Adam has told me to 'Hold On' before. For one, I don't like to 'hold on' and two, I don't like the way he says, 'hold on'. It's like doesn't quite say the 'd', but he doesn't really pronounce the 'o' sound the right way either. It's hard to explain, but it kinda sounds like 'hul on', sorta. I especially don't like it when I call him at work or he calls me or something and then starts talking to someone else in the background and tells ME to 'hul on'. Anyways, Lillian has picked up his bad habit, but of course, her way of saying it is sooo much more cute. She has the cutest little voice and she has a unique way of saying it, too. She doesn't pronounce the 'l' sound in hold. So, hers kinda sounds like 'hode on'. Plus she adds a little spice to hers and says, "Hode on Mudder" (Hold on Mother). It's too cute, I'm telling you. I love it. I'd hode on for her any day.
3.) The other thing she is saying lately is "No Fair". If I don't let the girls have a snack at night, or read books before bed or even if I give Alexa something before Lillian, she crosses her arms across her chest, says "No Fair" and pouts. Talk about bad habit, but it's SOO CUTE!
I wish I had a recorder on them all day. They are on the spot comedians and I just wish I could remember half the things they say.
