Nothing like procrastinating on Valentine's this year. Normally, we are on top of it and done with them a week in advance. But, this year Valentine's Day has quickly crept up on us. The girls and I stopped at Target on the way home last night to buy their cards. Alexa needed 25 and Lillian needed 18, plus treats, you can't forget the treats, cuz really who cares about the silly little card, right? It's all about the treat. So, we made our way to the Valentine section of Target and found the aisle with all the boxes of Valentine's. I have to admit, unless I was looking in the wrong spot, the Valentine cards were very lame this year. Alexa picked Barbie ones and I picked the 99 cent lady bug ones for Lillian. Ok, so now for the treats. Lillian said she wanted fruit snacks, and luckily Alexa agreed. 2, 24 pack boxes of fruit snacks later, we were at the check out and ready to go. Lillian wouldn't let go of her big box of fruit snacks. I think she thought they were all for her.
After dinner, we cleared the table and they opened up their boxes of Valentine cards. I got them both set up to write their names on each card. Thank goodness they just have them pass each card out to their friends, so we don't have to put all their friends' names on the To: spot, just who it's from.
Lillian's were fairly easy, she just had to write her name, which were just scribbles, so I had to go back and make it legible. Then she had to close them shut with a sticker. Alexa on the other hand, had tattoos and stickers that went along with hers. She wrote her name herself, I put the tattoo in the little slot and then she sealed them shut with her heart shaped stickers. We also put their names on the fruit snack, so their friends would know who it's from, said Alexa.
They finished in time to watch American Idol, get their jammies on and go to bed.
Whew!
