PRAY FOR JAMES

Missing from the girls' Birthday party last Saturday was our little neighbor boy, James. Since the Thursday before, James had had severe diarrhea and wasn't able to attend the party. His sister, Viktoriya, was there and told us of James' illness and apologized that he couldn't be with us.

During the party we were informed that Mike and Inna would be taking James to the emergency room because he had started pooping blood.

We prayed and worried all through the party. Viktoriya stayed with us until about 9 that night, waiting for her parents to return with James. After visiting with Mike, we were surprised that they didn't admit James for some testing and extra care, but they had sent him home. His blood count was a little low and thought he was dehydrated.

Tuesday night they took James back in to the ER and were sent right to Children's in Minneapolis. After doing some tests and blood work, they concluded that James has a rare case of E-Coli and HUS, which is caused from the E-Coli. Apparently, they have the E-Coli under control, it's the HUS they are concerned about. His kidney's have started shutting down and he's going into renal failure, which shuts down his other organs. His platelets are still dropping and if he doesn't pee soon (he only went once yesterday) they are going to have to put him on dialysis.
Mike and Inna have had the MN Department of Health investigating where this could have come from. James is autistic and extremely allergic to A LOT of things. He is on a strict diet and only eats organic foods specially cooked. He also goes to a school with children with special needs. Recently, they took a field trip to an Apple Orchard that had a petting zoo. The MN Dept of Health is almost certain that this is where James' E-coli came from. Either from something he ate there, or from one of the animals.

James is in the ICU unit at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis. He will be there for at least another week, depending on how things go. Please pray for James and his family to stay strong in this fight. James is only 4 years old and needs all the strength and courage possible to keep his body functioning the way it needs to.

WE LOVE YOU JAMES ~ GET WELL SOON!
