Never Ending D-R-A-M-A...

I picked up the girls from school on Monday, the nicest, warmest day of the year so far. They were wearing dresses and faces were red from playing outside. Alexa was thirsty so we got her a drink before we left. On the way home my brother Ben called asking if he could come over Tuesday and have me come with him to get a new cellphone, because his had broke. Sure, no problem!

All the way home we had the windows down and I was anxious to get to the park and wear a tee shirt to tan my pasty white arms. We got inside and Alexa said her neck (which means her throat) hurt and she wanted another drink. It alarmed me a little that her throat hurt because strep throat is going around her school. I gave her a cup and she went to the fridge and filled it with water. She brought it to the living room and took a small sip, burped and then threw up all over the place. It took her by surprise just as much as it did me. Where did that come from? She started crying right away and said "I'm not going to be able to go to the park, am I?" I said, "No Alexa, we need to stay home tonight and figure out what's wrong with you." I told her to go to the bathroom and wait for me to clean up the couch and floor. She went to the bathroom and I heard her throw up some more. My poor baby. What was wrong? She was FINE when I picked her up from school. With all this swine flu and other crap going around, it worried me right away. My guess though, is that she either was dehydrated or overheated. She rested awhile and then ate a little bit of rice and applesauce and felt better. She watched Dancing with the Stars and then went to bed.

Uncle Benski was waiting for us last night when the girls and I got home. We left right away for the Sprint store to get him a new cellphone. He is so much easier to shop cellphones with than Adam. Adam needs the new and top of the line everything and Ben wanted the most simple phone possible. He picked out what he wanted right away and the process of switching his contacts and pictures and everything went rather quickly. The girls ran around the store and were very very good.

I made dinner and while we were sitting at the table eating, my cellphone started to vibrate that I was getting a call. Ben ran to grab it but missed the call. Two seconds later Ben's phone rang and it was Adam, wanting to talk to me. He said, "Hey, I'm pretty sure I just broke my nose." I'm like.."WHAT?" He said he had taken an elbow to his nose playing basketball at work and was on the way to the hospital to get x-rays.

Sure enough, it was broken. He came home and you could really see the swelling on the left side, his eye was already a little black and blue. He iced it for 20 mins every 2 hours.
He woke up looking better than I thought he would. He didn't have as much of a shiner as I expected. He even slept pretty good. The doctor recommended him to go see an ear, nose and throat doctor just to make sure that he didn't need surgery or anything. I'm pretty sure he'll be ok, but he has an appointment for Friday at 8am, just to be sure. They apparently want to wait a few days for the swelling to go down before they take a look at it. For Adam's sake, I'm hoping they aren't going to have to re-break it.

It was fun seeing Uncle Benski last night. It's been awhile again since we've seen him. He's been busy working at Parade Ice Gardens, now working in aquatics, getting the pools ready for the summer. He's been pulling double shifts nearly every day and will continue to do so for the next couple weeks, before he heads back to Elbow Lake to work with the bees at the bee farm.

Today is also the day the cookie's come in for the girls' school fundraiser. They both sold 24 boxes together. So, we'll be busy delivering the cookies that we can. My mom is coming down to get her cookies, Grandma Katie's, Geoff's and Tiny's, which is 6 boxes total. I'm worried about fridge/freezer space for them all. We'll meet Linda in Owatonna Friday, on our way to Rochester to give her hers, Benny's and Isaac's. It should all work out fine. Adam cleaned out the fridge today and was able to clear 2 shelves.

Lillian has been "talking" so much lately. She talks a whole lot of baby talk and thinks she is making sense, but she is starting to get really good at saying actual words, too. She says "please and thank you" and all the names of the kids in her class, as well as "Amber", her teacher. She mimic's very well, too and does lots of animal sounds. It's been fun listening to her the last few days really start to say "words". I was able to visit with her teacher, Ms. Amber on Friday and she was saying how independent Lillian has gotten. She is the youngest in the class, but is right up there developmentally with the other kids that are 3-4 months older than her. I think it helps to have such a great big sister that is always "teaching" her new things.

HI BENSKI!!!!!!!!!!
